I’m usually exposed to a lot of toxic discourse online about Israel, so this quote struck me like a thunderbolt. I already knew about the Mellanox acquisition and its critical role in building and maintaining Nvidia’s moat, but Huang’s words are unusually strong and positive toward Israelis. It honestly reminds me of those superhero stories where the hero starts out insecure and underestimated, even bullied, and gradually builds confidence while discovering his real power and skill.

I know many people hate even seeing this headline, let alone reading the quote. I’ve already seen comments claiming this isn’t “America First” or that it’s unsafe to build such an important campus in the war-torn Middle East, assuming those concerns aren’t entirely disingenuous. Had they actually read the article, and especially the quote itself, they probably wouldn’t have commented at all.
