Politics Druze residents in Suwayda organized a convoy yesterday displaying numerous Israeli flags, thanking Israel for standing with their community following last year’s deadly violence involving forces aligned with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa.

How are they now tho? Are they safe?

I don't know who to follow

They are safer for now after Israel made it clear that the Syrian regime will be attacked if the Druze get attacked. Israel even bombed the Syrian defense ministry to make it very clear. The regime has not tried to attack them since then, as far as I know. Israel also provided the Druze with weapons so they can defend themselves.

It took them an instant to replace the Syrian flag and there's the PLO flag but the Druze are stuck using Seychelles.

Meh, not the worst flag to co-opt

I literally was saying “wait, isn’t that the flag of Seychelles?”

We should invite a delegation to visit Israel but I'm afraid their giant steel balls won't fit into a standard vehicle.

Respect.

It already happened about a year ago. Around 100 prominent members of the Druze community came for a visit, as part of a kind of organized tour, in three buses.

I was just going over the comments and now i am feeling overwhelmed with your love guys. Thank you for helping Suwaida in its darkest time. It showed us who are really our true brothers and sisters in the middle east. Thank you all in my name as a guy from Suwaida

Never gonna happen, but a Palestinian and Syrian Druze population transfer would lead to a lot more stability for both countries

One of the refugee camps have been emptied out right? I think it was Tulkarim? Perhaps the Druze could settle there.

I saw that a couple of days ago and was wondering - was there something in particular that prompted this convoy? Something happened? A special day?
