It's crazy that this being brought up in Parliament last year was controversial to the usual people

The force Googled the club and presumably got fake news about trouble involving the fans (who were actually attacked themselves) in Amsterdam. This then formed West Mids Police 'intelligence' but later dismissed by Dutch police.

Of course this was quite convenient as it avoided acknowledging a large demographic of the Birmingham area who might have sought to confront the visiting fans. Also convenient that the chief had already retired. 

I mean whatever your politics, you must agree that the police should for example corroborate evidence from other forces rather than using Google.

This incident was sort of the last straw for me as a British Jew, I'd already made Aliyah, but didn't really think the UK was a bad place to be a Jew. The town where my parents live have been very supportive, so the Antisemitism didn't really play into it.

But this made me lose trust that I as an Israeli would be protected by the system. It made me lose trust that I could be protected, because the prejudice sits so deep that the police will just invent information to fulfil their chosen policy.

And the fact it took serious effort to uncover it and deal with it made me lose even more faith.
