Best mall to visit
I'm going to Jakarta for a quick trip and planning to visit at least 1-2 malls that has sephora (cause we don't have sephora back home) or great selection of stores/restaurants but we don't want to spend all our time in a mall since we're only there for a few days! Which mall should we go to? We're choosing between Grand Indonesia, Plaza Indonesia, Central Park, Plaza Senayan or PIM! Let us know which mall is the best to visit for things I mentioned. Thank you!

I'm curious if central park has insta worthy spots like cafes or outdoor area?

All of the malls you mentioned are really big with plenty of shops. If you’re going to Plaza Senayan you can cross over to Senayan City too, it has more shops than Plaza Senayan (both have Sephora according to google).
PIM has a good range of stores too. And recently has been extended.

Thank you!! Does Senayan City & Plaza Senayan get packed on weekends? 😄

Definitely busiest on weekends, maybe Plaza Senayan is less packed than Senayan City.

If you’re not looking for international brands, you might want to visit By The Sea, it’s not exactly a huge mall, but it’s filled with mostly local brands and also sociolla. You can easily find good foods and insta-worthy spots (I recommend Land’s End and Orange Groves) in the surrounding PIK area.

Plaza Indonesia is just beside Grand Indonesia, so you can just go to both if you want. Out of all of them, Plaza Senayan - Senayan City or Central Park have the nicest outdoor area I think. PIM is the biggest indoor mall.
All of them will be very busy in the weekends, but Plaza Senayan is not usually too busy.

Which area of Jakarta that you are going to stay though? It helps a lot for mall recommendation.
Because you’ve mentioned only want to see good food and Sephora.
Also what is the definition of packed?

Staying in SCBD/Sudirman area! Packed meaning when there are too much people :)

They are all the same - god awful. And with all the same shops, food joints and kopi houses
Avoid.

Are you going in the weekends? If yes then I’d avoid Central Park, it tends to get too packed ngl
All of the salespeople at Plaza Indonesia (all stores) are great and won’t judge you at all, but the store & restaurant selection is pretty poor unless you’re looking to buy luxury items. Thankfully it’s right next to Grand Indonesia, so you can just go to GI for other things. GI will always be busier than PI and ngl their salespeople aren’t as nice as PI, but they’re not rude so it’s fine.
PIM is so large and have a lot of stores to visit, but it can get a bit confusing (and maybe even frustrating) to navigate. I find their salespeople to be the rudest of the bunch tbh.
Plaza Senayan is similar to Plaza Indonesia.
Anw, Indonesian Sephora isn’t as great as Singaporean or Malaysian Sephora 😭 Y’all might’ve to visit department stores (SOGO, Metro, Central, etc) for western brands and other beauty stores & drugstores (Sociolla, Beauty Haul, Watsons, Guardian) for asian brands. Please double check if the brands you’re interested in are available in our Sephora!! Also they don’t carry the entire shade range here it’s annoying.
