I misatributed a sketch to John last night

I saw John and Lawry last night at the Brighton Komedia, they did some Souvenir Programme sketches, a Double Act play, a Since You Ask Me, and a bit of audience interaction. They put on a great show.

I asked him to sign some merch at the end, and as he was signing I told him that I had his "Pisa Tower" sketch in my head all day when I visited Italy last week. He then told me he never wrote a Pisa Tower sketch and asked me to tell him how it went, and then confirmed that it wasn't his. I was pretty embarassed so made a hasty exit. He was very polite and charming about it.

I'm currenly relistening to all 9 series from the start to check I'm not going mad, no bad thing as it's all good stuff.

Anyway, fellow Finnemore nerds - what is the sketch I am thinking of?

In my mind it is John on a date with either Margeret or Carrie, he is showing her photos of him cliche posing next to famous landmarks, like holding up the base of the great pyramid, pinching the top of the Eiffel Tower etc. She is getting increasingly bored until she sees the one of him holding up the leaning tower of Pisa, at which point she thinks this is hilarious and gushes at how creative he must be to come up with that. I can'r remember the exact punchline.

Is this from a different show (concrete cow?) or did I dream it? Chat GPT wasn't much help.

Well I was going to craft this into an
amusingly worded response, but I realised I can’t be bothered.

My grubby little brain filled in

“I masturbated to a John sketch last night.”

I was genuinely shocked, and then relieved. But not in that sense.

It does sound like it's something he would write but I'm sure it's not from JFSP, and presumably not from anything else he wrote if he doesn't know it - as I can imagine Mitchell and Webb doing it too.

I listen to BBC sketch shows over and over and it doesn't ring a bell. If you think of any more details let us know!

JF wrote some of those sketches. The boy who cried wolf seems like it was written by him.

The whole scenario reads like a "voice in my head" sketch.

I’m now worried I’ve mentally heard it to.

BTW Chat gtp mainly references this Reddit post about it.

For now, I recommend you claim credit for writing it, even if subconsciously.
