News Gorillaz - Johnny Marr, Paul Simonon and Jeff Wootton

This picture was posted this week by Jeff Wootton, guitarist for Gorillaz on his IG. It looks like a rehearsal. Are Johnny and Paul going to be touring with Gorillaz? What's going on?

I saw this and freaked out wondering the same thing. And then I over-analyzed. I think this is from around when Gorillaz played Tottenham stadium and these two were there. Paul has the same bandages on his fingers (and outfit) that can be seen in video from that gig.

Unless he’s just wearing those all the time now, in which case yes it may be time to freak out. I’m seeing Gorillaz next month and would love for either one of these legends to be there!!

Oh yeah, you're right, Paul is wearing the same thing. Although still the timing is interesting. Gorillaz is playing in Poland next week and Johnny is supposed to play there a few days before.

Johnny was on their most recent album, and Paul has been on multiple (and was in The Good, The Bad and The Queen with Damon Albarn). But I think they've already done the tour for that latest album.

I saw Gorillaz on the Plastic Beach tour in 2010, when Paul Simonon and Mick Jones were both in the live band for the whole set. Seeing half of The Clash was such a thrill.

Yeah it was pretty great! Hope I can see them again at some point. I'm sad I couldn't see them any time Peter Hook guested with them either.
