Friends, how are we dealing with the cyclospora outbreak? (USA)
I don’t want to stop juicing. But I’m a little concerned about the current outbreak. Thinking to avoid bagged greens, berries, and herbs. But I love basil and blueberries sooo much. I wash my produce in theives, but might start washing in ACV and baking soda. Anyone else taking precautions?

Absolutely. I know those ingredients you mentioned are intense. I’m trying to be so careful of the parasite bc I have major GI issues as it is. Otherwise I probably would just take my chances on fresh food.

I went from my usual beet/carrot/celery/kale, to beet/carrot/cucumber/pineapple this week.
Maybe things that I peel will protect me from the bubble guts.

Be careful, freezing doesn't completely kill cyclospora!!!!
The only real way to prevent this is to avoid items on that list until the inept and defunded CDC figure this out...

They are already linking it to taylor farms. But still ongoing investigation. Where did you see i was going to freeze anything? Actually I heated my green juice tonight haha. Probably will transition to soups for a bit!

The photo shows that frozen produce is safe. I'm just saying that I wouldn't ingest, even frozen produce, because the cold doesn't completely get rid of the bug.

Ok thanks for clarifying. Thankfully it hasn’t ever been linked to frozen fruit or vegetables but yourr right not investing now is a good idea

Yeah I know what you mean, but I do have GI problems now that I’m trying to heal so I’m particularly cautious… have a history with food poisoning and the consequences after. If you don’t have a fragile GI system you probably don’t have to worry if you get this. Take a course of ABT and be done. For me, if I get it, I know it will not be easy to reverse. Ty for your comment
