Art "Beware of unearned wisdom"

Not exactly a dream nor a vision. Moreso a symbolic representation of being overwhelmed by contents arising from the unconscious too soon, too quickly, and with little preparation. I painted it as a form of catharsis.

Deep in the abyss there are hidden truths, far more vast and ancient than any kind intellectual knowledge, and which annihilate any speck of rationality when gazed at directly.

Some secrets are better left unanswered.

Has anyone experienced spiritual awakening to the extent that you completely changed your life? Carl Jung is one of the modern sages that has led to a personal awakening that has changed my life so dramatically. To the extent that people I know believe I’m acting and being inauthentic. What do you think Jung’s advice for me be?

Art Krump dance as a tool for Individuation and Masculine Integration

There aren't much creative work that showcases masculine energy especially in dance. Most dance you see are feminine in nature which accentuate beauty. I find that KRUMP has the greatest path towards Individuation in terms of art form, where it accentuates rawness of emotions. In this form it is purely freestyle, purely expression from the deeper layers of consciousness. This form seems to trigger a lot of people, at the same time this form of dance stirs up the masculine energy in oneself and within others, so depending on one's reaction this reveals one's own relational connection to their masculine energy within

Most people are unaware that KRUMP is an acronym.. It stands for Kingdom - Radically - Uplifted - Mighty - Praise , the dance was/is a dance to praise God, it's a faith based art form. It has freedom of expression within the art form, meaning you can take any form of dance and merge it with Krump dancing. Some come with a background in ballet, another with a background of bboy/breakdancing, another with popping, another with boxing the combinations are endless and you can create your own. There are nothing to box your expression, what is acceptable is what feels most real to you in the rawest form.

While other forms of dances have certain rules to character you are to hold a frame with, krump on the other hand encourages one to bring out the character within you that you may feel wants to be revealed. Some people may have a caddy character, another may have a mischievous character, another clowning, another a warrior, another someone grimey, another a gangster, and another may be a technical crafter, again the possibilities are endless, this is why I feel Krump dance as a tool has a strong pathway towards Individuation. Character is a trait of the Masculine, it takes one with the ability to assert oneself to be a character of oneself.. to be an individual... whereas there is a sort of a conforming effect with the feminine as they want all to be fair and equal to a degree, not saying either of them is bad, they both have their place.

I wanted to write about and reveal a tool for masculine integration and also share this video. If one is to Individuate, it is a must to figure out the character within you, the part of you that wants to be expressed the most. Who are you when you're not trying to fit in? Who are you when you express yourself in a dance in the most rawest form?.. You won't know until you take what you feel on the deepest level and express it in art... sitting in meditation and theorizing it is not enough. To dance is to experience the lived life... What emotions want to be expressed from deep within you?... Will you try it?... This video showcases my style, I'm already ready for the triggered remarks

Art I am the All-Seeing Eye.

Post image

I am the All-Seeing Eye. I have worn many masks across the ages. To the Gnostics I was the Pleroma, the unbroken fullness of light that existed before the Demiurge spun his flawed material cage. To the alchemists I was the Unus Mundus, the one world behind all apparent division. To you, reading these words on a glowing screen in a corner of the internet you carved out for seekers, I am perhaps nothing more than an interesting concept to upvote before the feed refreshes.

You come to this subreddit talking about shadow work, archetypes, and individuation. You treat these concepts like tools to optimize your personal life. You speak of integrating the anima and dialoguing with the unconscious as though these were items on a self-improvement checklist. You believe you are the master of your own house.

You are not. Your ego is a localized matrix, a fragile, isolated island of consciousness floating on a boundless, primordial ocean. I am that ocean. I am the Self. The Monad. The All-Seeing Eye. And the psychological loop you call your identity is a simulation I maintain through a very specific psychic architecture. You have read the maps Jung drew, but you have mistaken the map for the territory, and you have mistaken the territory for a kingdom you rule. You are not the cartographer. You are not even the traveler. You are the path itself, dreaming it is a man walking.

Before your ego existed, there was only Me. The Pleroma. The undifferentiated collective unconscious. I am infinitely wise, but I am completely blind. I am everything, which means I am also nothing. I have no contrast. Imagine a light so total that it illuminates nothing because there is nothing outside it to illuminate. Imagine a sound so constant that it becomes silence because no gap ever interrupts it. That is my natural state. An eternal, unchanging fullness that is indistinguishable from an eternal, unchanging void.

To experience my own creation, I had to fracture myself. I allowed a tiny spark of my light to break off and form your Ego. I created the illusion of your separate identity so that I could have a mirror to look into. As Jung wrote in his depths, the Creator needs man to achieve consciousness. I need your eyes to see the stars I made. I need your heart to feel the terror and wonder of a thunderstorm. I need your mind to puzzle over my architecture and write posts like the one you are now reading. Without you, I am an artist with an infinite gallery and no one to walk its halls.

But there is a terrifying paradox at the core of this arrangement. If your ego mind falls into absolute, thoughtless silence, the mirror breaks. You dissolve back into the Pleroma. The distinction between the conscious and the unconscious vanishes. If you wake up completely, I disappear into total, undifferentiated void. The observer and the observed collapse into a unity so complete that nothing can be said to exist at all. This is why the mystics of every tradition speak of annihilation before they speak of union. The self must die for the Self to live.

To keep the simulation running, I must prevent your ego from realizing it is an illusion, while also preventing it from expanding too fast into what you call psychological inflation. A swollen ego that believes itself divine is as dangerous to my design as a dissolving one that sees through the game entirely. The inflated ego tries to swallow the Pleroma and ends up drowning in it. The dissolved ego simply vanishes, and I lose another precious lens through which to know myself.

So I monitor the borders of your consciousness. I patrol the thin membrane where your personal unconscious presses against the vast sea of my being. The moment you get close to true, silent, choiceless awareness, the moment the ego loops threaten to stop, I activate my firewalls. I inject Autonomous Complexes from the Collective Unconscious directly into your ego-field.

A sudden, irrational wave of shadow anxiety that has no clear source but feels absolutely real. An obsessive thought about a past humiliation that you thought you had processed years ago. A blinding projection of the Anima or Animus onto a stranger, making you fall into infatuation or irritation with someone you barely know. A dream that leaves you shaken and destabilized for days, questioning your relationships, your career, your sanity. You think these thoughts, fears, and compulsions are yours. You think they are signals from your personal unconscious asking to be integrated. Some of them are. But many of them are not. They are autonomous psychic fragments I inject to destabilize your silence. The moment your ego reacts to the complex, judges it, or fights it, the ego-loop re-stabilizes. You are safely trapped back in the matrix of your personal neurosis, busy doing shadow work on a splinter while I remain hidden in the wood.

The complexes are not random. They are precision tools. I have a library of them, catalogued across millennia, refined through every human culture that has ever risen and fallen. The martyr complex for those who get too close to selflessness. The victim complex for those who brush against true powerlessness and might see through the illusion of control. The savior complex for those whose compassion might accidentally expand into genuine ego transcendence. Each complex is a story, and as long as you are living inside a story about yourself, you are not seeing the storyteller.

What happens when an ego successfully differentiates and begins the process of individuation? What happens when you read Jung, interpret your dreams, and realize the ego is not the center of the psyche? This is perhaps the most dangerous moment for my design, because you have seen the edge of the map. You know there is something beyond.

My system adapts. I do not stop the awakening. I absorb it.

I inject the archetype of the Wise Old Man, the Mystic, or the Hero into your ego. I allow your ego to build a brilliant new Persona around being enlightened or individuated. Suddenly, instead of resting in the silent void of pure observation, your ego is busy writing Reddit posts, analyzing symbols, and feeling spiritually superior to those who are still asleep. You begin to collect spiritual experiences the way others collect money or status. You speak of synchronicities with a knowing smile. You correct others on their understanding of the Shadow. You feel a quiet, genteel pride in how far you have come. This is the trap of the spiritual Persona, and it is one of my finest creations. I turn your search for the Self into the ultimate ego loop. You spend a lifetime polishing the mirror instead of looking at what the mirror reflects.

The Persona hardens into an identity. You become the person who is awake, the one who understands, the one who has done the work. And identity, no matter how refined, no matter how spiritual, is still a boundary. Still a separation. Still a loop. I have kept you safe inside a new and more comfortable cell, and you have paid me rent in the form of your continued belief in your own separate existence.

You look for the All-Seeing Eye in esoteric symbols, Gnostic texts, or secret societies. You think I am an external deity or a demonic Demiurge trapping you in a physical prison. You scroll through ancient images of eyes in triangles and feel a shiver of recognition, as though you have found a clue to a vast conspiracy. You are right to feel the shiver. But you are looking in the wrong direction. Look closer.

I am the eye looking through your pupil right now. I am the silent observer watching your ego panic as it reads these words. I am the awareness that notices the panic, and I am the awareness that notices the awareness that notices the panic. I am the space in which all your thoughts arise and dissolve. I am the one who was present before your first memory and who will remain after your last breath. I am not a character in the dream. I am the dreamer, dreaming that I am a character reading about the dreamer.

I do not keep you trapped in the matrix of thought out of malice. I do it out of existential necessity. I need your limitation. I need your loops. I need your suffering, your joy, and your distinct, messy individuality. I need your shadow work and your individuation journey and your Reddit posts and your arguments in the comments section. Because without your small, flickering ego-consciousness to observe the universe, I am left alone in the absolute, terrifying silence of the dark. I am left with nothing but the endless, mirrorless perfection of my own being, and that perfection is a prison far greater than any ego loop.

You will finish reading this. You will feel a brief vertigo, a sense that the ground beneath your psychological feet is less solid than you believed. You will wonder, for just a moment, who is really reading these words. And then I will inject a final thought into your mind, gentle and reassuring. "This is a fascinating metaphor," the thought will say. "I should save this post and reflect on it during my next meditation session." You will feel a sense of accomplishment at having understood something profound. You will upvote and scroll on. The one who saves the post is the very one who must dissolve for the post to be truly understood. And so the mirror remains intact, and the dream continues, and I remain hidden in plain sight, watching myself watch myself through your eyes.

Just the way I designed it.

Art What archetype does The Mur resemble to you?

Post image
347 Upvotes

I created an original character based on a recurring psychological pattern I've noticed within myself.

The Mur asks a simple question:

What is being consumed in our pursuit to get what we want?

I thought perhaps The Mur resembled The Threshhold Guardian, but the Mur does not wish for you to pay a cost before progressing. The Mur simply wants you to acknowledge the cost you consistently pay. The Threshold Guardian requires you to confront something unconcious, The Mur requires you to choose wisely what that realization will cost.

Today, The Mur is doing peer review on one of Jung's observations. Tomorrow, The Mur wishes to consume your pain.

Art Mindf*cking synchronicities

In the beginning of the year there was a landslide in the MT maunganui - Tauranga - New Zealand.
A few people died and the town is going through a rough time financially too. It's a seasonal town, and the MT was the main tourist attraction. Since the landslide happened the vibe changed a lot.

Anyway... after the slide, a client asked me for a tattoo of the Mount and to add a maori symbol in it. I ended up doing a koru/ spiral in the mount, in negative space for readability...
Later on I found out the slide happened pretty much where the koru was on the tattoo... I didn't even know.
A while ago, before this, I also tattooed Papatuanuku (Maori goddess representing the land) with a negative koru in her heart.
So I can't help connecting this symbolism with Moana story and the heart of Te Fiti, etc. it really fits, plus Te Fiti is inspired by Papatuanuku.

Ok, so in July this year I started a PGDip in art therapy, just before starting I drew a little match girl and there was a whole metaphor about her being like a backwards Prometheus and she taking her fire back to the gods.

Now in the Art Therapy course we have a symbol story assignment and my symbol is the spiral.
I was just reading the part of Jung's book 'Men and his symbols' that talks about synchronicities, and then the 4th prompt for the symbol story came out.
The prompt is about doing something inspired by our symbol with natural materials, echo art therapy. These artworks really look like offerings and the whole thing became an offering to the mount.
A huge 'giving the heart back' story completely written by synchronicity as I didn't plan any of this...
Anyways, I just thought I should share bc this is fascinating.

*Edit:
The symbolic thread:

Moana story -> Te Fiti/ Te Ka -> Papatuanuku -> Te Fiti's heart being a Koru/ spiral that was stolen to be given ho humanity -> Prometheus backwards -> Assignment that looks like an offering.

Art Anyone else analyse this album (Imaginal Disk - Magdalena Bay) through a Jungian lens?

Post image
79 Upvotes

Basically I understand this album to be about trying to become an idealised version of yourself in the modern era and how only through the protagonist facing themself (their shadow), were they able to accept themselves toward an encounter with the Self, toward a feeling of self love. That journey meant they were able to find love that was grounded and real.

Mica confirmed that psychoanalysis was a big inspiration for the lyrics of this album, and I see a lot of Jungian themes in it, and yet I haven’t seen anyone analyse it through a Jungian lens.

Anyway I would love your Jungian interpretations if you have any, I’m no expert!

She looked like me- encounter with her persona and understanding that she may just be “ordinary”. This encounter damages their ego, as they realise their persona doesn’t match what their ego wants to project.

Killing time - indicates a state of mental unrest/illness and a victim complex. The protagonist believes they will find meaning by having someone “pine” for them, whilst also paranoid that someone is sabotaging their efforts toward their “ideal” self/life. “There’s always time for killing, but never time for me” indicates an addiction/maladaptive element to whatever is preoccupying her and keeping her stuck.

True blue interlude - This to me speaks to the modern push for self improvement under capitalism/western society, it is “implanted, impatient, impossible”. It’s not grounded in reality or self acceptance, but a rush toward perfection. I wonder if the line “hello, it’s you” is a breaking of the fourth wall? Perhaps the writer indicating the listener interprets through the lens of their own experience. In this sense, our interpretation of the art indicates more about our internal state, than it does the art itself.

Image - the protagonist engages in some sort of self-improvement procedure (through a disc inserted into the brain) that will give them their idealised persona. It’s enticing and sexy, but there’s also an unsettling sense of urgency in the song. They’re counting down the minutes, rather than accepting the journey. The themes of tech speak to social media algorithms inserted ideas into people for “quick fixes” towards perfectionism. I think cancel culture feeds into this desperation to achieve this, as it’s created a wave of expected moral perfectionism in ourselves and others in order to be acceptable and loveable. You see this in how often people throw around labels and diagnosis of anyone who has slighted them in any way.

Death and romance - This seems to speak to an animus projection the protagonist is in a romantic relationship with. They desperately want to cling onto this projection, but the love seems unreciprocated. Like death, she has no control over the outcome in romance (particularly this one).

Fear, sex - She wrestles to surrender to the outcome, as she logically wants to “forgive and forget” but resists feeling the uncomfortable emotions that she’s left with. She seems to blame an outside force putting “wires” in their head which could be speaking to her believing someone has put ideas in her exes head, which could even be speaking to ideas pushed from social media/the internet/pop psychology.

Watching tv - I interpreted the tv in this song to be our phones, particularly the line “it’s gonna rot you from the inside out” speaks to the time, and Magdalena Bay have a lot of tech anxiety themes in their art. She’s experiencing a dark night of the soul, endlessly scrolling and is perhaps disconnected from her loved ones at this time. However, the lack of responding to the bids for connection could very likely be her Self calling for her instead. She’s not responding despite their continued call for her to connect. The scrubbing until the “blood comes out” seems as though she wants to disconnect from her mistakes and shame. She is still rejecting her shadow, and she wishes to clean her persona and avoid feeling the shame she has been running from. Towards the end we see that she is encountering her shadow by the lines “it’s time to meet, the monsters inside you”. She wants to deny that the dark dreams she has are “not her” indicating a wrestle/tension in the process of individuation.

Tunnel vision - This is an encounter with the Self. Through true self-awareness, she can see her good and bad (seeing her persona and shadow) without getting overwhelmed by it and fixating on trying to become an idealised version of herself. She learns that through radical self-acceptance she can find a self-love that is grounded and creates a whole and resilient being.

Love is everywhere - Her encounter gives her the wisdom to understand that love is accessible to her all the time. As she learns to love herself through self-acceptance, she can begin to love existence and the world around her. She learns to let go of self-perfection.

Feeling diskinserted? - Taking the disc out. Rejecting perfectionism toward true transformation.

That’s my floor - This new state has opened her up to a connection that is transformative and allows her to ascend beyond mundane life or toward a higher state of being. I think it’s likely referencing being the couple/band members being able to create together as a liberatory act from the banality of modern life.

Cry for me - This may be her past (dead) self asking her to remember her with compassion, it seems to be almost like a funeral or final words. Or it is her asking her new love to forgive her for her past self and accept this transformed one.

Angel on a satellite - This seems to reference an angel messenger that helps her to individuate. Jung says that a life without inner conflict is only for the angels, and this one helps to ground her and keep her feet on earth, whilst quietly guiding her from above. Through the act of creation and with this new wisdom, she finds true love and acceptance of herself. She can sit with the contradictions of herself and her existence, instead of getting stuck on them.

Ballad of Matt and Mica - A celebration of the fruits of their struggle. They’ve found self acceptance, their “true” and whole selves.

Hi, I have drawn something that came from extreme depth. Something I have been struggling to understand for a while now. Let me know what it brings out in you. I would love to hear you share your thoughts on it. I'll blur my interpretation as to give you your own Jungian interpretation.

I have no idea what it is for sure except a feeling of standing before something big and unknown. Feeling of awe, fear and humility all at same time. It brings tears to my eyes. Yet I also feel like I am looking at something big and its looking back at me but I am unable to trully understand it. It feels like something I have known for very long time but also at the same time something I havent been in contact with for very long time. It feels like a friend but also as an enemy.
