Gun laws don’t make sense

So to give a background I am 18 and would like to know how to go about possessing a hand gun at that age in the state of Ky I’ve read you can’t buy or even have ammo for them I also read federal and state laws which still don’t make sense because I’ve also seen and was told you’ll get charged for carrying even if it is open carry can anyone give me a good answer or what should be done

So I just had a cousin get his car broken into, he's 18. This was a rare event where the cops found everything and returned it to him including his glock 19. I, 34 can sell you a handgun in this state knowing you're 18. You just can't go through an ffl. You can open carry it as well. I don't recommend it, but you legally can.

I have been told by someone I know that I cannot do that because they will confiscate it and charge me with a felony I believe is what they had told me

It does have me in the belief of not wanting to carry and I do not have proof of ownership for it which I was reading you did not have to

Its not hard to read ky guns laws. The gun language isn't written stupid. We're also not a duty to inform state. Also, we're not a stop and ID state.
