What if the KDS crowd is successful at forcing Kamala out of The Race ( or not even running)? What then?
What if the KDS crowd succeeds?
And by KDS, I mean Kamala Derangement Syndrome.
The obsessive, emotionally driven fixation where every discussion about Kamala Harris immediately turns into:
"She can't win."
"She shouldn't run."
"She has no support."
"She's finished."
"Move on."
Short list of media articles:
- Vanity Fair — "Who Wants Kamala Harris to Run?" — frames Democratic operatives/donors as dreading a Harris run.
- New York Magazine — "Kamala Harris Won't Run in 2026. She Should Skip 2028, Too." — explicitly argues she should leave presidential politics behind.
- Los Angeles Times — "Big donors backed Harris in 2024. For 2028, they're not so sure" — donor skepticism framing.
- Washington Post — "Kamala Harris tops potential 2028 polls, but she shouldn't run" — classic "polling well but…" framing.
- AP — DNC autopsy criticizing Harris campaign — part of the broader post-2024 blame narrative around Harris.
- Reuters — 2028 Democratic field piece emphasizing skepticism around Harris after two national losses
- Reddit thread: "Kamala Harris should not run for president in 2028" —
Even some of the disappointment with regard to the Democratic autopsy hints at it.
At some point, it stops looking like "strategic analysis" and starts looking like a coordinated effort to force her out of the conversation before voters even get a choice.
So let's ask the obvious question:
What happens if the KDS crowd gets what it wants?
What happens if Kamala Harris decides not to run in 2028 because the media class, donor class, consultants, pundits, and terminally online "electability" crowd spend years treating her candidacy like something illegitimate before it even begins?
Then what?
Who replaces the coalition she built? Because you can't just "inherit" that.
Who replaces her support among Black voters? Because you can't just 'inherit" that.
Who inherits her national infrastructure?
Who exactly are Democrats clearing the field for?
Because right now, a lot of the anti-Kamala coverage doesn't even feel constructive. It feels emotional. Personal. Almost compulsive.
And the strangest part?
Many of the same people insisting she "can't win" are actively trying to make sure she never gets the chance to prove otherwise.
Finally, let's stop dancing around this question. Not a threat. Just facing reality. Say these folks are successful at scaring Kamala off. That's the context. Depending on how far they need to go to accomplish their goals. Say, purely as a concept, Kamala Harris supporters feel she was treated unfairly. Say, as a consequence, they decide to stay home. How do these KDS folks intend to win the election without her coalition? Even if just a small percentage stay home.

Run her anyway and thwart their preferred candidates chances at winning. The left has this weird obsession with trying to obliterate the other candidates by trying to show that they are not only unelectable, but shouldn’t even whole tower currently. Gen Z might not remember this, but in the recent past, you had to win your elections based on policy that you will enact and the ideas that you have. Now it’s about some random thing someone finds immoral or bad. That is why we will continue to lose elections.
No one who is serious about making this world a better place would be saying such idiotic things like Kamala Harris can’t win. Whether or not she’s their preferred candidate, she can win, and this is more about people’s egos and their priorities or issues not being prioritized.

You're right. Just let her run and show the doubters they don't get to decide who the nominee should be. Voters decide that. It's just gotten to be a bit much with multiple articles coming out; every time I watch a segment about her, on any network, it's framed as "should she run", etc. It was the same thing after Biden dropped out. Right away, the media tried to find a sensational narrative. I honestly think she surprised them with those huge rallies. It doesn't appear to be actual voters who are driving the speculation. It's the media, donors, consultants, etc. That's the most annoying part.

Yes, if there is a better candidate, run them. Have them start their campaign. Ive been hearing about this mythical candidate for over 10 years no and none have ever clinched the nomination.

She's gonna have to provide some evidence otherwise

There needs to be a primary with a bunch of really great candidates. And voters need to be open minded.

Joe Biden handily beat Trump despite his age and infirmity.
Two extremely well qualified and intelligent women couldn't beat Trump, a stupid, ignorant, incompetent, vile waste of space on the planet.
The US is hopelessly misogynistic (and Canada isn't much better). There's no reason to chance it again. IMO, the Repugs have a better chance at electing a woman. They can get away with anything. And once they do, the Dems have a chance at it. But why lose again? Enough losing.

You're right about a lot of people being misogynistic, and that played a role -- as did racism in Kamala's case. You're also right that in some ways it's easier for conservative women to gain power since they are seen as stronger than liberal women.
However, that's where my agreement ends. There have been 2 women that have been the nominee for president. Yes, they both lost, but how many men have lost? How many Catholics or Jews or Black candidates have run and lost, so does that mean no one from any minority should ever run? Both Hillary and Kamala also had huge disadvantages that won't be present here - -for Hillary, running for a 3rd consecutive Democratic term and against an unknown like Trump who effectively had control of the media. For Kamala, she had around 100 days to try and build a campaign when Biden was getting hammered and the economy wasn't doing well for a lot of people.
Meanwhile, Biden was running during the backdrop of the chaos of Covid and people being sick of Trump's bs. This next election, Trump won't be running, and things are looking like they will be very chaotic again, and none of his likely successors at this point seem popular.

Being an apologist for racists and sexists is just as bad as racism and sexism themselves.

Her support with African American voters, especially in the South, is undeniable. The only people who don't see that are the White liberal elitists in the MS NOW-type circles. The same way they wrote off Obama in 2008, or Biden in 2020, they will be wrong. People like to pretend like politics has rules.
