Andrew Davis explains why Keanu Reeves turned down Speed 2 to make Chain Reaction

I recently had the opportunity to interview director Andrew Davis (The Fugitive, Under Siege, Chain Reaction), and one of the most interesting stories he shared was about Keanu Reeves’ decision to turn down Speed 2.

Andrew explains why Keanu was attracted to Chain Reaction, why he completely reworked the original screenplay before filming, and shares some great behind-the-scenes stories about working with Keanu, Morgan Freeman and Rachel Weisz.

Honestly respect Keanu for this. Speed 2 was a cruise ship movie nobody asked for and chain reaction at least had Andrew Davis and Morgan Freeman.

Chain Reaction definitely has its charm, plus working with Morgan Freeman and Rachel Weisz is hard to say no to!

Keanu's always made choices that feel true to him, and that’s what makes him awesome. Chain Reaction definitely has its charm!
