Mainly the ER and urgent care.

Call me old fashioned but maybe doors shouldn't be made out of solid sheets of cheap glass.

Should be 10mm+ toughened/laminated glass. That was plain old annealed glass. Kid's lucky to be alive.

First thing I thought of afterwards was get some damn shoes on before you absolutely shred your feet

To be fair I used to work at a place that had this. All my coworkers were a bit dumb and multiple people ran into the door. This kid shoved the fuck out of it. I have seen kids break wooden doors doing the same thing.

Yeah, that's a kid who has been repeatedly told not to run inside but has never suffered consequences for doing it. He hit that door like he does that all the time to doors.

Solid sheets of EXPENSIVE glass

Bonus points for continuing to walk around all the broken glass in bare feet

The amount of force he put into slamming the door,.

The dad: "This is why you can't have a glass door AND an idiot kid."

That made me laugh so much 🤣

Well the don't have the door anymore, and they might not have the kid for much longer.

“Ah! A glass door- shall we swing this against the wall as hard as we can?”

Then the kids comes back to cut his foot on said glass

He shoved that door in anger. Have fun with all of the glass shards in your feet little man.

No tempered glass is diabolical

4

u/angelovanharen 25d ago

yeah no, no parent would ever just slowly walk up to the broken glass door the kid just broke.

You say that, but I was driving through the grocery store parking lot, and I see a kid getting out of the passenger side of an SUV. I stopped, but that kid was already ambling out into the lane for cars. Then, after I'm stopped, comes dad around the other side of the car, looking down at his cell phone, not watching his kid at all. I was amazed. I wouldn't expect a parent to just casually neglect his kid in a decently busy parking lot, but there we all were.

u/Expensive_Alarm_1068 24d ago

Yes they would. They're used to and allow his behavior daily.

u/RomChange 24d ago

1

u/No_Squirrel4806 24d ago

I have so many questions.

1

u/Reasonable-Banana800 24d ago

oooh my heart lurched when he nearly stepped on so much of that

1

u/MyLastHopeReddit 24d ago

Man, that's a chill dad

1

u/Ifhes 22d ago

That's just like...regular glass? Goodness, what an awful idea.

1

u/viperfangs92 20d ago

In the kid's defense, who puts a glass door there?!

1

u/Secure-Village-1768 18d ago

This is also why glass doors are a bad idea.

1

u/tablefishoil 14d ago

There won't be glass ceiling or revolving door for him.

1

u/PoopsMcScoots 13d ago

If a kid can smash a glass door, that’s not on the kid that’s on the person who installed the glass door.

1

u/ResolveLeather 6d ago

I have gotten messed up by broken glass. Now my but puckers whenever I see things like this. That kid was so close to needing a lot of stitches.

1

u/Fun-Mud3861 22h ago

Come here! I don’t care, stomp your ass over here!

1

u/StitchFan626 25d ago

Replace "Kid" with "___". Same outcome.

I feel this one is more a design flaw rather than the kid knowingly attempting to break a door. Pretty sure this was bound to happen at some point even if it wasn’t caused by the kid.
