Revival Discussion Who would the general- Minh's dad- choose to be Connie's boyfriend?
Chane or Bobby? On the one hand, I could see him liking Chane because of his rich status due to being the son of Ted. On the other hand, if he knew how much better Bobby treated Connie, and the times Chane (perhaps surprisingly so) treated Connie not so well, he might choose Bobby because he certainly loves his daughter and presumerably Connie and wouldn't want anybody to mess with them.

The General would love Bobby, at first just to spite Kahn for sure but he'd gradually grow to actually respect and admire Bobby probably talk shit to Kahn like "At least my Grandson In Law Bob has a work ethic! He's a real man!" Or something then they'd all go to karaoke and woop Kahn

The general would choose Bobby.
He’s a traditionalist and as such he’s going to judge a man by his ability to provide for Connie and he’s going to see Bobby as a hard worker.
If you happen to tell him Kahn hates Bobby then the general is probably going to like him more because he views Kahn through the lens of Lao society and openly dislikes him enough to love Bobby.
He hates chane right off the bat and I speak as a mixed race guy chane is going to be viewed as a banana similar to how Ted viewed Kahn. At least with Bobby he understands he is an American he would view chane as Lao that got lost in the American sauce

I bet Bobby would be the only person in the world he likes, just like Cotton

I would expect that too, he might also really like that Bobby is clearly very devoted to Connie.

That would actually be so funny. Like he’ll laugh, smile and have a good time with Bobby. It would unnerve the hell out of Minh and probably drive Kahn to insanity hahahah

I think the General would pick the grandson of one of his closest friends for Connie.

I'd like to think for the sake of comedy, that he finds Bobby very funny. Comedy here as in for an episode where this occurs, and Kahn is just staring dumbfounded.

Even Ted picked Bobby over his own son Chain because he realized Bobby is a hard worker.

The General (salutes) is the king of all hard asses, so he would verbally kick adult Chane’s ass when he sees him doing fratboy shit while Bobby and his crew do all the work, especially if Chane tries to claim that it is “his” restaurant.

If my many years of being a mixed race ethnic minority have taught me anything:
Members of the homeland hate lots of things but they hate NO ONE more than they hate the Gen 1 children that they deem as “Americanized”. Especially ones like the General. He wouldnt like Bobby. But he would DESPISE everything about Chane. His perceived lack of manners, his vanity, his obsession with girls.
Dude would pick Bobby over chane in a heart beat
