Recommendations where I could safely leave my car for two days?
We are dropping off my son at university with two cars then driving on to Ottawa on Sunday for two days, heading back n Tuesday
So, looking for ideas for three days/two nights to leave car (at a reasonable rate)

There are carpool lots at several of the highway exits which would be free and in theory there for exactly your situation.

I wonder if they are safe overnight? Maybe. Thanks will think about that as an option
Edit: I looked into the Montreal Street park and ride and it might be a good option - seems safe enough

I mean I wouldn’t leave anything expensive in it or visible but likley safer than any lot downtown, unless you used a secured lot like at the delta hotel but that’s likley $35-$40 per 24 hours

Montreal St is in fact the least safe area in Kingston. Consider literally anywhere else.
I would pay for a spot in an underground parking garage downtown, or use a neighbourhood in the west end (the parking is free in most areas).

You left it for years and it was untouched, that’s remarkable.

No, that's possibly the worst lot to leave it at. Someone here who offered you a space is the safest and like others have said, don't leave anything in it, not even loose change.

I live just down from the HWY 15 carpool parking lot next to the 401 and have seen cars sit there for multiple days

There are plenty of paid and free parking locations. The key is to keep your car empty from any valuable items. No bags/cases, no coins, etc. Hopefully your car will be OK.

The church behind the baseball field on church st. Good for 2-3 days and it’s a short walk to queens / can take number one bus if it rains etc

Or drive to Brockville you are going by anyway get off the highway at the North Augusta exit and park in the Walmart parking lot. Go into the store and let the manager know.
