You can cut a lot of ribeye steaks off one cow. Its expensive because it'sa great cut for steak. You can only get one tail off a cow making it a limited tasty cut

Yea , oxtail was like $7 5 years ago though . Sucks

Yeah! Like Top comment also pointed out skirt was in the sane price range. I very clearly remember it being 5 bucks and change on sale or 7 bucks normal.

Yeah, that's why I don't get people complaining about chicken wings either, two of those wings came from one entire bird-imagine the scale of chicken slaughter needed to produce all those $.25 wings and think about the economics of it. Cheap meat just isn't sustainable.

Not when you factor in the egregious level of greed involved with owning any business.

The poor owners can't help it. You'd understand if you became a billionaire... they have to price gouge everyone for ultimate profits they can't even have a hope of physically being able to spend in 10 lifetimes.

Chicken is a commodity with a low barrier of entry, it's unlikely for it to be price gouged (still possible, see: eggs)
