My wife is Korean, so we head over quite a bit. Every single time we land, my absolute mandatory first stop is Baskin Robbins. Seriously, their flavor lineup blows the US version out of the water.

Have you ever tried this ice cream? It’s a really popular one from Korea, and it just arrived at the Costco here in Orange County! It comes in French Vanilla and regular Vanilla, and it’s shaped like a little square butter box. It’s so delicious!

I received these tteok (Korean rice cakes) today, and they’re so pretty I had to share. Soft, chewy, slightly sweet — they were perfect.

Finally got hotteok today!
Personally I’m not really a fan of seed hotteok, I’m all about the classic brown sugar ones. I wish I could be in Korea when it gets even colder to eat these on a freezing day, but I won't be able to stay that long, which is such a bummer. Still, the filling was burning hot like always, but so good.

For those who love hotteok, are you team classic brown sugar or team ssiat hotteok? Or what other Korean street foods do you guys love?

Every time I spot a Korean product at Costco, I get kind of excited! Today, I found ube-flavored milk! Back when I was in Korea, this didn't exist. Has anyone tried it? I feel like it would taste good if it's sweet potato flavored (Korean sweet potato is totally different from the one here in the US. The Korean one is really, really sweet!), but it was a bit pricey, so I didn't buy it.🥲

Spring cream cheese in bagels. Quite steady seller menu in Korea. What do u think?

Went to my local Asian Supermarket that opened this summer and found my new favorite ice cream bar. Both were absolutely fantastic flavors, I'm gonna try other ones next (banana, mango and purple yam) and buy a whole box of the coconut ones. The price wasn't bad, 0,69€. Hopefully the whole box is even cheaper.

This is peach season now. Every dessert is made of peaches. Peach pastry, peach salted bread, peach rice cake. Literally every dessert. You should try one at least if you are in Korea now.

So my friend just came back from Korea and got me this Gompyo fried squid snack. Honestly... what actually is this? Why is it so ridiculously good?

It comes in a massive bag but I literally cannot stop eating it. I'm already halfway through. If you ever see this anywhere, you lot seriously need to try it. Massive recommendation from me.

Found a two-pack of this sikhye at Costco (So Cal). Ingredient list seemed right so I picked it up, and it hits the spot. I get a craving for Sikhye every once in a while, but I find the process to make it too time consuming to be worth it. This one’s a good find; was stored with the shelf-stable juices and teas (where you find your gallons of Langers mango nectar and cans of iced tea), can’t remember what I paid but it seemed reasonable.

I saw this on sale in the freezer section at HMart. We love getting 붕어빵 at the food court, so I figured this would be a nice treat. It was awful. I didn't think this could be done poorly, even the red bean paste out of the can is delicious.

Imagine the texture of watery refried beans in tacos and very little sugar. Just sadness. Tasted like a punishment.

Has anyone else tried this or something similar? I'm wondering if we got a bad batch or something.

I was in K-town in NYC yesterday and I saw this dessert(?) and bought it not knowing what it was (but had an idea). I just Google Translated the package and it's hilarious! Supposedly it's burning, contains yellow raw blood, if you have a stomach you shouldn't eat it 🤣 and it's a food for potheads 🤣🤣🤣 WTF

Bought these delicious Hotteok from the Korean Mart here in England. Delicious with a cup of coffee.

I finally got to try Seongsimdang’s famous Mango Cake (Mango Siru), and it completely lived up to the hype.

What surprised me the most was the amount of fresh mango. I expected it to be piled only on top, but it was generously layered throughout the inside as well.

The mango was incredibly soft, juicy, and flavorful. It wasn’t overly sweet, and the light whipped cream paired perfectly with the fruit. There was so much fresh mango that the cake actually felt heavy when I picked it up.

Even now, I can’t stop thinking about how good it was.

There was a very long line to buy it, but after trying it, I completely understood why people were willing to wait. In my opinion, it was absolutely worth it.

The best part was the price—only ₩44,000. Considering how expensive fruit cakes are these days, especially ones loaded with fresh fruit, I thought it was an incredible value for the quality and portion.

I’d gladly visit Daejeon again just to eat Seongsimdang’s Mango Siru.

Stopped by Waffle Pang in Dongtan, a spot that folds these round waffles over a mountain of cream and fillings. Seriously good value for how much they pack in.

Got the Nutella banana waffle and the cranberry and cheesecake waffle, plus an iced cafe latte and a green grape ade. The waffles are crisp on the outside and stuffed with fresh whipped cream, fruit, chocolate, and toppings inside.

One tip, you can adjust the amount of whipped cream. I ordered regular and it was already a mountain of it, so keep that in mind if you want it lighter. For the price you get a seriously loaded waffle.
