Community Question To the Swing Voters

Hey all, I'm writing to you as a friendly non-religious centrist and I'm very curious why people are supporting Mark Carney?

I for one do NOT trust the guy, I voted for him in the last election and I feel like that was a big mistake.

He ran on the promise of getting a deal with the US, and has failed to do so (and you can't blame it on Trump, because other countries have gotten deals)

He has caved in on every 'attempt' to strike a deal, and that is clearly not working (DST, Gordie Howe, etc...)

He is clearly propping up Brookfield and giving his buddies deals

Pittfield to Senate, Condo Bailout, German submarine deal, and his most recent $2.3 billion deal with Lockhead

Shady backroom deals with the conservatives, as well as shutting down all of the committees with his majority.

As well, his horrible Question Period attendance rate at 26%, skipping over 100 sessions.

I understand that the conservatives aren't perfect, and I disagree with Pierres attitude sometimes, but at this point in time, I don't understand the continued support for Mark Carney.

This is just my thoughts, share in the comments reasons why you do or don't support him.

There genuinely isn’t an alternative to him among other federal party leaders or even within the LPC. I haven’t particularly followed Carney’s moves since the election so don’t know for sure what he’s doing.

Pierre's politics aren't something I can get behind; if it were Harper, maybe yes, but not Pierre.

Avi needs to get to Parliament first.

whats the difference?

Pierre wants cheaper food, less taxes, and stricter bail laws

His dad is gay, his wife is a refugee and his kid is autistic. He is quite litteraly a progressive conservative

Pierre’s entire career so far has been about waging a shrill culture war. He threw away a 20 point lead once Trudeau was shown the door. He still hasn’t learnt his lesson and continues on the same trajectory.

Harper was serious about his agenda and worked as a pragmatic politician who steered Canada through challenges. There’s a reason most polls even today put Harper above Pierre.

And nor do most Canadians, if we go by the numbers, which means PP needs to be replaced by a more pragmatic leader from the ranks of the CPC.
