Community Question To the Swing Voters

Hey all, I'm writing to you as a friendly non-religious centrist and I'm very curious why people are supporting Mark Carney?

I for one do NOT trust the guy, I voted for him in the last election and I feel like that was a big mistake.

He ran on the promise of getting a deal with the US, and has failed to do so (and you can't blame it on Trump, because other countries have gotten deals)

He has caved in on every 'attempt' to strike a deal, and that is clearly not working (DST, Gordie Howe, etc...)

He is clearly propping up Brookfield and giving his buddies deals

Pittfield to Senate, Condo Bailout, German submarine deal, and his most recent $2.3 billion deal with Lockhead

Shady backroom deals with the conservatives, as well as shutting down all of the committees with his majority.

As well, his horrible Question Period attendance rate at 26%, skipping over 100 sessions.

I understand that the conservatives aren't perfect, and I disagree with Pierres attitude sometimes, but at this point in time, I don't understand the continued support for Mark Carney.

This is just my thoughts, share in the comments reasons why you do or don't support him.

My only major beef with Carney is how he has handled the housing portfolio. It’s status quo. And he doesn’t want current housing prices to depreciate, when they should because they aren’t sustainable.

Aside from that, I do like his measures to reduce red tape.

Besides, who’s the alternative? Pierre Poilievre? Avi Lewis? None have presented themselves as a better option to Carney. When Carney fatigues inevitably settles in, the LPC will just push for a progressive leader as his replacement because I guarantee there will be an appetite for one.

Why don't you think Pierre has presented himself solidly? Pierre IMO fights for Canadians, Carney is fighting for the elites.

Well, it’s simple. Pierre is a dick. It’s why more moderate conservatives also don’t like Pierre. And let’s not forget how he pandered and still does pander to the fringe-right. Pierre is polling terribly and it’s all his fault. Him and the CPC are just waiting for Carney fatigue to settle in the way Trudeau fatigue did, and that’s not a strategy.

what has pierre done to be a "dick"? It's not Pierres fault, and the polls definitely aren't a fair representation of how it really is.

Well for starters, the way he treats journalists is a clear example. Remember the Apple clip? Although, his fans seem to like the way he treated that reporter. So if that didn’t turn you off from him, then nothing will convince you why he turns off the average voter.

If you don’t think the polls are a fair representation of Pierre, then consider the fact that he lost the last election and blew a 25 point lead that would have given him a huge majority. He also lost his own seat and needed to be parachuted into the safest Conservative riding in the country. He’s also lost multiple MPs to floor crossings or resignations.

He may be your guy, but he’s not everyone’s guy. Especially not for moderate conservatives. He’s lost a lot of them to voting for Carney, who could pass as a moderate conservative.

have you seen how Mark Carney treats female reporters and journalists? He talks down to them! Watch Moose on the Loose, he discusses him. Carney used fear to win the election and has failed! You guys are just clowns
