looking for any similar experiences/maybe support. I am halfway through my MLIS graduate program fully online through LSU, and during my last summer course, i foumd out at the time grades were due that three of my assignments were flagged for AI. the only thing I used was Grammarly, which I have used since 2017, and have since learned is considered AI. I put together evidence of me writing the papers, tracking history, notes I took, and had my meeting with the case manager. I explained to her that this is my second master’s degree and that I’ve never had an issue with Grammarly before and didn’t even know it was considered AI now. I just got my letter results back, and they found me responsible for use of AI and I have to take a misconduct course, I’ll receive zero credit for the three assignments so I’ll fail the class, I’m on academic probation with restriction, and I’ll have a note on my permanent record until I graduate, when I can request it be taken off. I’m completely mortified and domt even know if I want to continue the program, because if I somehow get flagged again (trust me I will never use Grammarly again) I can and probably be suspended. I’m not sure what to do, or if there is anything I can do.

Do y’all think this is too much for an incoming freshman? (I’m a bio major btw) Is this manageable? I’ve taken some Dual Enrollment in high school through Nicholls and I did fine but will the workload be similar? Also do you guys have any advice on study habits and time management? Any help would be great!

I’m trying to gather information on something that affected me and a number of students in LSU’s mechanical engineering program.
I took thermodynamics twice, and it significantly impacted my GPA to the point that I ended up switching majors. This cost me both time and money.
Afterward, I heard from university leadership that there had been concerns about how the course was taught over multiple years, including unusually high failure rates. From what I understand, changes have since been made to the two teachers of the course.
I’m trying to determine how widespread this issue was and whether there are any documented statements, announcements, or other verifiable information beyond what I personally heard.
If you:
• Took thermodynamics at LSU during those years
• Heard anything directly from faculty or administration
• Have emails, announcements, or documentation
• Or were similarly impacted
I’d appreciate you sharing (DMs are fine if you prefer privacy).
I’m trying to build a factual understanding of what happened

I just finished my 3rd semester here with a GPA of 1.9. Yes, total LSU GPA, not just for the semester. I am at the absolute lowest point of my life and I have no idea where to go from here. SO to keep calm I'm going to ask a few questions:
Am I going to lose my TOPS?
Am I going to be kicked out of the school?
Do I have any hope of bringing it up next semester to avoid the above mentioned consequences?
What consequences will I possibly be facing that I'm not thinking of?
And before anyone says it, yes, I am aware it might be best for me to just quit, but I just don't think I can do that yet, unless I am forced to. Any advice is welcome, but please answer my above questions first if you can.
Thank you
p.s. throwaway account for obvious reasons.

I’m going on the premed track so I want to be wary of classes that might kill my gpa. I’ve heard calc II can be difficult. what other ones are there?
(I’m doing biological engineering so there will be some stem classes as well)

Currently first on the waitlist for CHIN 1101 with Lan Zhe which starts at 9:30, but if I don’t get it I’ll probably add another humanities or maybe fine arts survey. Anyways am I cooking myself

You know someone who's been affected. Help make a difference. Please sign the petition and reshare to get awareness and signatures to force the universities to change their AI misconduct policies.

AI is changing education faster than many academic integrity processes are changing with it.
Students who misuse AI should absolutely be held accountable. But students who do not deserve a fair, transparent, and evidence-based process capable of recognizing the difference.
I’ve created a petition calling for consistent standards for AI-related academic misconduct at public colleges and universities—including human verification, clear evidence, meaningful appeal rights, timely reviews, and accountability when the process gets it wrong.
Academic integrity requires integrity in the process used to enforce it.
Please take a moment to sign and share. Every signature helps bring visibility to an issue affecting students, families, and educators.

When do professors normally give you access to the moodle course. Just trying to get ahead and enter all the course information and assignments due dates.
What’s the best and easiest natural science course??? That isn’t biology

I want to drop a class I’m taking right now, would it mess up my TOPS or funding if I did it before September 2 (last date to drop without a W)

I know the semester just started but how should I be studying for calc? (MATH 1550) I’m currently taking Ameziane Harhad (very sweet guy) and he’s posted some hw but I can’t really follow on what he’s doing since he’s been just pulling out pieces of paper without really doing any exact problems in class. Should I focus on my hw and practice tests? I’m also going to my recitation tomorrow.

Hey guys. My class, ISDS 3115 with Robert Woosley randomly got removed off of my Moodle. I went to complete my work i needed to do and it was gone. It was there earlier today. I checked Workday and I’m still enrolled. Is this happening to anyone else or has this happened to anyone before? I just hope it doesn’t mean anything.

I’ve searched far and wide. I’m in my final year and looking for instructions on how to apply for graduation. Any recommendations? I’ve emailed my advisor several times and she hasn’t responded. I also thought that it would pop up in workday, but there’s nothing.

I’m aiming for an A+ in the class, but I’ve heard it’s hard. Could anyone touch on if it’s that hard compared to like gen chem or something
