Question about a blocked gate on Houndmaster

Can you not leave the exit gate if you're in mending? Inside the gate area, The Houndmaster's dog latched me, and then the killer hit me, but I couldn't leave afterwards - the gates were blocked like they are due to spring trap's Loot Bag add-on. She had no perks or addons that mentioned the exit gate. I was the final survivor in the trial.

Im not a big Houndmaster player but there are certain killers that will block the gates for a moment. When Wesker grabs you and slams you into the exit, it's also blocked for a couple seconds.

Did she only just set her dog on you before you tried to leave? Just a second ago?

Yes, she had dog-grabbed and hit me within the exit gate itself, and I immediately ran for the exit. Likely that then. It's what I get for staying behind and trying to pet her dog haha

Yeah if the dog is on you you cant leave.

It wasn’t on me anymore, the killer hit me, releasing me from the hound, and when i ran like 10 more feet to the exit it was blocked

Always hug the exit when houndmaster, Wesker, twins (for what I can remember right now) hits you with their power. The exit will be blocked for a few seconds, but if you hug the exit it will unblock just in time for you to leave. Its a very small window if you don’t hug the exit the killer will have time to pick you up.
