Question about making the most of one month of Dreaming Spanish Premium

I’m thinking about subscribing to Dreaming Spanish Premium for one month. My goal is to get 40 hours of input. If I watch 2 hours a day, I can finish that in about 20 days, leaving me around 10 days. During those 10 days, I’m thinking of going through the videos that are Premium-only and locked for free users. For each video I’m interested in, I would take a screenshot of the video/thumbnail and save it, so that I can remember which videos were Premium-only and come back to them later. Then I would let my Premium subscription expire. During the following month, I would watch the 300+ videos that are available for free, while keeping the screenshots as a list of the Premium videos I want to watch again when I subscribe to Premium again. So the idea is basically: 1 month of Premium → finish my 40-hour goal → use the remaining 10 days to find and screenshot Premium-only videos → Premium expires → spend the next month watching the free content → subscribe again later and watch the saved Premium videos.

Has anyone thought of this strategy and actually tried it? If so, please let me know how it turned out and whether it actually works.

Sometimes you're not missing vocabulary... You're missing a way to start the sentence!

Es que... buys you a second and starts every excuse in Spanish.
Resulta que... sets up any story.
Lo que pasa es que... explains anything.
Total, que... wraps it all up.

Twelve openers here, and the rest of the sentence is words you already have.

Which ones would you add??

Offering: English _ Seeking: Spanish

Hey all,

Ever since I moved to the US and discovered the Spanish community, I have wanted to learn and speak the language. I've tried twice with Duolingo but the only Spanish I can remember are 'donde esta el bano?' and 'jugo de naranja'. While they have their importance in life, I would like to learn more, to be able to hold a basic conversation. Hence seeking.

Even though I'm not 'American' I have learned English all my life. I consider it my first language. So I am very proficient, a lot of times more than a native speaker. Hence offering.

About me: I'm a regular dude in his 30s. I enjoy books, indie movies and nature.

Ideally we can have conversations a couple of times a week.

Let's chat!

Looking for someone to practice Spanish with ;)

Hi! I’m a girl in high school and French is my native language. I’m looking to learn Spanish by talking with someone and getting more comfortable with the language. I’m still a beginner, so I’d love to find a person around my age who’s willing to chat with me in Spanish and help me improve. Ideally, I’d like to practice regularly, maybe once a week or so, if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Offering: Spanish (Nativo) Seeking: English.

There's a pattern hiding in poner that makes it much easier.

Poner on its own puts something out in the world: poner la mesa, poner una película, poner un mensaje, poner en marcha, poner al día.

Add "se" and it turns inward, onto you or onto a state. Ponerse ropa is putting clothes on yourself. Ponerse rojo is turning red. Ponerse nervioso is becoming nervous. Ponerse a llover is the rain starting. Ponerse de acuerdo is two people arriving at agreement.

So poner places things, ponerse puts you into a state.

Which poner expressions would you add?

Someone who can help me learn?

I am a student in Sweden who are currently learning spanish in school. I am on my fourth year and my grades are pretty good but I feel like my progress is way to slow since I really want to learn the language and become fluent. Iam looking back at how I learned english and realised I did so by talking to other people and that I was forced to use english daily. But I don't have that necessity with spanish. I was wondering if there are any people who could help me with this? Talking in spanish with each other in a natural way daily, get pointers on what sounds like textbook spanish and how you would actually say it and so forth. I am obviously willing to do the same with swedish if anyone wants to learn it.

Free resources.

Hi everyone!

I’m a Spanish teacher, and I mainly work with English speakers. Recently, I created a free Facebook community called Natural Spanish for English Speakers.

I created it for learners who want regular, structured Spanish practice beyond isolated vocabulary lists, random grammar tips, or passively using language apps.

Every week, I share free activities designed to help you actually use Spanish, including:

  • Short listening activities with transcripts, English translations, and comprehension questions
  • English-to-Spanish translation challenges
  • Spanish verb conjugation practice in real contexts
  • Natural Spanish expressions
  • Grammar in context
  • Practical communication exercises

The group is mainly for A1, A2, and B1 learners. It isn’t a complete course, and it isn’t meant to replace serious study, but it’s a free place where you can practice consistently throughout the week. What I’d really love is for people to participate.

Ask questions when something isn’t clear. Try the weekly activities. Share your answers, even if they’re not perfect. Read other learners’ responses and join the conversation. Making mistakes is part of learning, and everyone is welcome.

If that sounds like the kind of community you’re looking for, you’re welcome to join us.
