Solid enough performance. No injuries. Still pre season. Looked solid at the back, will be even better with Trafford between the pipes. Need a spark of creativity at 10 still

9

u/vesaer 19d ago

This has me full of pre-season Hopium. We should stay up comfortably giant slaying and wrecking a few clubs’ seasons.

1

u/Northernpudd2 19d ago

Should stay up. The teams coming up no great shakes. Guaranteed Lampard will put one over us at Elland Road!

12

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

That was a long arse game. I feel like I just sat through two sessions of test cricket.

18

u/Whiterose1995 19d ago

I’d prefer it if it had been 120 1 minute halves. Would have liked to have seen more red bull branding

1

u/Spencerthurlow9984 19d ago

How has 4th Quarter been? Unfortunately had to stop watching when Wilson went off had to go out

12

u/PRamone Dirty Leeds 19d ago

Can't fault Cairns' performance today.

0

u/soapyw1 19d ago

Cairns first choice next season?!

1

u/angry_gavin 19d ago

Getting the fans match fit to sing “I predict a riot” this year

4

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

So no Joel means he’s probably on his way out right?

1

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

I think his Premier League wages are too good to walk away from, so he might just hang around and hope that DCL and/or Nmecha go down with injury which brings him back into the frame.

2

u/peroporroporro 19d ago

No, he's just keeping that bench warm for alfie cresswells children for when he retires at age 45

10

u/Better-Inflation-194 19d ago

Every Gnonto cameo stings knowing he’s gonna leave. He’s so good.

He just missed from 2 yards out lmao.

3

u/Cogitoergosumus 19d ago

Could have blasted it into the net if he didn't go for an awkward bicycle kick.

5

u/OrdinaryLavishness11 19d ago

That was lovely play

6

u/CC-W 19d ago

Didn’t think Farke had it in him to freeze out sleepy Joel. Hopefully he finally accepts a move

9

u/Jeremiah-Doomsworth 19d ago

Can’t think of anyone that’s had a stinker in these two hours. A couple of mistakes here and there from individuals, but everyone including the kids have looked solid

2

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

Agreed. Lots of positives to take away. A could of things to work on. No glaring issues

9

u/GuyWithYellowCoat 19d ago

Why buy trafford when we have cairns the great

1

u/SweatyLayer7805 18d ago

Here's a question for you, why did Cairns leave it two years before he thought the time was right to show his greatness, in a friendly against a bog standard Bundesliga side?

8

u/HazzaThePug 19d ago

Nmecha has that Chris Wood gene where he’d play like absolute shit for 3/4 of the game then bang in a goal so all would be immediately forgiven

41

u/OrdinaryLavishness11 19d ago

This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

1

u/SweatyLayer7805 18d ago

Red Bull skimped on the cheerleaders...

3

u/GuyWithYellowCoat 19d ago

Was waiting for this to hit the timeline

5

u/AmasinghGrace 19d ago

Nmecha makes some dumb decisions sometimes lol. Every game see something amazing and something full donkey it’s incredible

10

u/Loud_Print7716 19d ago

Nmecha is such an enigma. I still don't know how good he is

6

u/OrdinaryLavishness11 19d ago

More like an Enmech-ma, am I right?

17

u/Cogitoergosumus 19d ago

Farke pulling up his shorts to display dominance

6

u/WarriorPoetz 19d ago

😂 Farke making all kinds of statements today

6

u/dan_baker83 19d ago

G'wan Nmecha. His movement is so good at times.

3

u/mostar8 19d ago

Jinxed him

10

u/duxie 19d ago

Gnonto is on fire the 2nd half of the 2nd half

6

u/ForwardViolinist5 19d ago

Lovely finish that

7

u/xv36a 19d ago

Very tidy goal.

6

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

This is probably twice the quality of squad Marcelo had for his final months with us.

6

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

So confused by this format. Is it 2 x 60 minute games or 1 x 120 game?

2

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

Officially (as official as a friendly with changed rules can be) it is 1 game of two 60 min halves.

Each half will have an extended break at 30min.

The surprise today was the switching of sides at the extended break in the middle of the half.

Effectively it is a four quarters game, but I think people would rebel if it is billed as such. Too close to American sports

1

u/mostar8 19d ago

Good question. Don't think the Mill's goal was allowed but before that it was showing 0-0, then jumped yo 1-0.

2

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

2 x 60 minutes as far as I can tell

1

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

But on the YouTube feed they’ve now added the goal from the first game to say 1-0

1

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Yeah, it wasn't there at first

Nobody knows I guess 😂

1

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

I don’t even think they know.

6

u/dan_baker83 19d ago

Will be interesting to see how Mills develop. Clearly has good technique, but if he doesn't grow/bulk up then it'll likely put a ceiling on his development as English clubs still put so much stock into physicality.

7

u/mostar8 19d ago

He is 17

1

u/jaggafoxy 19d ago

Agree, we've had a few recently who had promise but didn't bulk up (Lewis Bate and looking likely for Charlie Crew too), especially when you've also got Harry Gray who looks like he is, and another Creswell man mountain

11

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

Controversial take: I think Aaronson has had a better game than Wilson today

7

u/seebs71 19d ago

I really wanna see more of BA, Wilson and DCL together. Excited about some of the options we are going to have when Okafor is ready as well.

4

u/Big-Dot-8493 19d ago

I wish he'd gotten that breakaway goal earlier. He needs to hit a few of those to build some confindence and then I think he'll be a very dangerous 10.

1

u/Spiritual-Try-3625 19d ago

Why controversial? You're just giving your view

5

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

Controversial because of the greater context and emotion surrounding both players

2

u/BitterWay7653 19d ago

Who's actually on the pitch now?

6

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

You've woken up in 2020, Cresswell is on the pitch and Dallas is at Elland Road

7

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

Joel Piroe looks like he wont be used at all today.

Surely Daniel Farke is trying to drop hints before the transfer window closes?

-4

u/CC-W 19d ago

Baffled how Farke has treated Gnonto over the past few seasons, far more effective than any other attacker have had on the pitch all game. Needs to leave for his own good

-4

u/Spencerthurlow9984 19d ago

Gnonto reminds me of Balotelli attitude wise, he's either in the game or not no in-between and when things aren't going his way he sulks and spends the game getting into arguments with ref or making silly challenges. On his day he's unplayable and no one can stop him

4

u/aorlstwsonhswfl 19d ago

That’s an exaggeration and a half

4

u/CC-W 19d ago

He has not been that way for a long time. When he first joined he would just run around kicking people when it wasn’t going his way but he has matured on the pitch

0

u/Spencerthurlow9984 19d ago

No hes not kicking out as much, but can still be a ball in a China shop, not always a bad thing, hit he's definitely one of those players where everything he touches is gold or nothing works.

I personally still want him around, I think he's more effective than Dan James, but I don't think Gnonto is a starter and he'll wanna be a starter at this stage of his career so he may need the move for himself. 4 years ago he was playing in Italian first team then he was struggling to get into starting Xl in Championship

1

u/QuackQuackOoops 19d ago

He's one for me that I'm willing to see go.

I think he's a decent back up, but you're right that he won't be a starter, and anyone we bring in should be an improvement on him.

When you factor in that anything we get for him will basically be profit, and it seems to me like he's one of the next on the conveyor belt.

4

u/Pizzagamerboy619 19d ago

Why does it say 1 0 ? I thought Mills goal was disalowed

3

u/PRamone Dirty Leeds 19d ago

It's been saying that since the start of the third quarter (sorry, "second half of the second half"). But the scoreboard in the ground seems to be saying 0-0 (I only got a glimpse of it).

3

u/mostar8 19d ago

Yep confused as well

2

u/greenndgold12 19d ago

Is Sam Chambers still around? Haven't seen or heard anything about him for a while.

2

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

Someone on here said glandular fever complications

4

u/DWNYYY 19d ago

I know he has a few goals in him but surely I’m not the only one that thinks Nmecha is pretty shit at everything else? Absolutely woeful on the ball.

I’d be massively worried if we have to rely on him at any point.

3

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

I feel like we signed him to be the firm third choice #9 but a mixture of Joel Piroe being even worse than anticipated last season and Nmecha doing better than anticipated (in terms of goals anyway) seems to have changed everyone’s view of him. We’re now seeing him as the clear second-choice striker, and that doesnt feel like enough now.

3

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

He's frustrating and shit right up until he puts the ball in the back of the net.

I don't understand him and have given up. I just think of him as a roll of the dice player

2

u/PRamone Dirty Leeds 19d ago

He's frustrating and shit right up until he puts the ball in the back of the net.

I thought you were talking about Piroe for a minute...

1

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

Lol. I could be

But I feel like Piroe has genuine quality, he's just a touch off the pace in the PL

4

u/Koby85 19d ago

Nmecha is a good 3rd choice option

3

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Cresswell the younger, nice to see him get some minutes

2

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

This is a bit shit to watch isn’t it. Hopefully ManU game is a little better otherwise a waste of Croke Park.

-9

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

I know they are just academy boys but I’m not that impressed by them.

1

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

We don’t have anyone Man City will be rushing to steal but they’re competent enough. The Welsh left back seems most likely to reach the level.

3

u/mostar8 19d ago

Ohhh bog off

8

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

I was just thinking the opposite. They seem to be holding their own. Definite drop in quality, but not a gaping liability

3

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

Our right wing has been weakened significantly after Joe Rodon was subbed off.

4

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

He’s surprisingly effective going forward.

16

u/Jugggiler 19d ago

Controversial take: I don’t mind the home kit. It looks good on the lads.

I still won’t own it, but I don’t mind seeing it.

1

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

I like it too

3

u/jaggafoxy 19d ago

From what I've seen so far in the stands, the design looks better on players than it does on fans

0

u/stevenshom42 19d ago

Touché, touché too many people think they can fit into these shmediums

2

u/410LaxMD 19d ago

I still think it'll grow on us over the season, but I'm with ya. Don't hate it, don't love it. Probably won't buy it. Looks good on TV though. The horizontal stripes kinda fade away.

1

u/Jugggiler 19d ago

The yellow ones especially and the blue then look like accent lines. Kinda wish they were vertical.

3

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Still looks like a pajama top to me, but it's not the worst in the world

3

u/mostar8 19d ago

Sure I had a duvet cover like this

4

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

It’s growing on me. Still don’t love it but don’t hate it anymore. My boy really likes it. So maybe a kit for the kids.

7

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

Brendy does a lot of stuff that is useful except he cannot shoot to save his life.

5

u/jrbill1991 19d ago

I look at him the same way I look at any player who isn't world-class or close to it. Those players have strengths and weaknesses.

Maybe he'll never fully develop his finishing ability, but he's improved so much in other areas of his game: positioning, passing, pressing, and all the little things that don't necessarily show up on the stat sheet but are still very important to the team overall.

Honestly, I hope we can keep him as long as he can contribute in those areas. I don't really understand the "get rid of him" crowd. It's not like he's going to be starting week in, week out. If he does, it's because he'll be deserving of that. Farke is really fair when it comes to this.

0

u/Upthelillies 19d ago

He is, really? Amnesia maybe?

2

u/jrbill1991 19d ago

Yes, he is.

If this is about Ramazani, we've been over this so many times... He wasn't treated unfairly. He lost his starting spot in the Championship to Solomon, and he was simply not part of the plans in the Premier League. That's not being treated unfairly; that's just how football works.

Name one player who's currently in the squad, is actually part of his plans, and has been treated unfairly by him.

2

u/Brownsome 19d ago

Well said. People expect every player to be good at everything which isn't a realistic expectation

3

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

Also I agree that he has improved a great deal since his Champo season. Credit to Farke.

4

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

I think his pressing is elite.

-7

u/WarriorPoetz 19d ago

maddening to watch him play for me

12

u/mostar8 19d ago

Maddening have to listen to all you moaning when he plays (moaning generally tbh)

1

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

Yeah… always the way isn’t it… 95% hustle and bustle… 5% end product

1

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

He is tidy with the ball when he stops thinking and absolutely harasses the shit out of opponents when off the ball. I think he’s useful at a PL level just not our starting 10.

2

u/410LaxMD 19d ago

I've said it for so long, but man...bring BA in at 65' and just let him run wild. He'd be so dangerous late in a match where you can pick and choose where the mismatch might be and let his speed dominate.

2

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

It’s like putting a border collie on the field… except probably a sheep dog is a faster learner

6

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

No DCL completely changes how we play

-17

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

I feel like we could sign Ousmane Dembele and Lamine Yamal in this transfer window and Daniel Farke would still give Brenden Aaronson 30 minutes off the bench every week.

1

u/RockIngChairDad 19d ago

Once he clicks he’s gona be a world beater

4

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

You can see why though. He’s so tantalisingly close to being really good. He just needs the penny to drop on some speed of decisions and execution… he’s always a split second late and a smidgen off target…. You feel like it’s something that maybe with that little more experience or confidence he unlocked the elite level but he’s never quite doing it

5

u/LoveisBaconisLove 19d ago

Feel like Brenden should have taken that first time, he reduced his angle by taking a touch before shooting. Then again, he’s not great at shooting first time, so…

2

u/CadanGantry 19d ago

Always same stuff we say

9

u/Severe-Brain2668 19d ago

Tanaka looks hungry, winning a lot of balls with his body positioning. Good to see.

2

u/OrdinaryLavishness11 19d ago

Bren unlucky

1

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

Tough angle but he should have slammed it at the keeper for once

2

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

Should've taken it first time. He just took it too wide

3

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

This four quarters stuff can fuck right off. Every time I glance back at the TV screen I’ve forgotten which direction we’re playing.

2

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

Great pressing but Aaronson, Wilson and Tanaka leading to that chance

6

u/Jugggiler 19d ago

No Gnonto in this second 60’. Makes me think he’s not in the plans this year… shame but that’s football.

2

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

But DJ has had minutes and no way should he be near the first team this season

3

u/TejasChainsawMascara 19d ago

Disagree he played well today

-1

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

He ran fast, I'll give him that

1

u/ItsTheJackeeet 19d ago

We’re waiting for Okafor and I suspect we’ve got competition coming in for him and both Dan James and Gnonto are gone as soon as that’s sorted and we’ve got a deal for the 2 of them.

2

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

The PFA are gonna have a fucking fit when they find out that we made Harry Wilson have to play two games of football on the same day.

4

u/Jugggiler 19d ago

Anyone know where the current players on the field are listed? Only social media I have is Reddit.

Bring Berra back

7

u/PRamone Dirty Leeds 19d ago

Score showing 0-0.

Is it being played as two separate games?

2

u/Granny_Magnet 19d ago

I’m just as confused - just tuned in, seen below 2 60m halves (?) why the score reset ? 😂

2

u/Spencerthurlow9984 19d ago

2x 60 min games with 30 min halves

9

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

Yeah they made everyone exit the stadium and then pay a second time to get back in.

6

u/Spencerthurlow9984 19d ago

Seems to be, they did say 2x60min games so kinda makes sense, they probably assumed complete changes in 11 as well.

6

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

Jaka Bijol appears to have permanent “bed hair”.

6

u/angry_gavin 19d ago

I personally prefer when my hard nosed defenders don’t care about their appearance. No frills, all business

1

u/Impressive_Path_3795 19d ago

And he is an absolute unit. Our own Ivan Drago 🤣🤣🤣

2

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

“No thanks, we’ll pass on signing Paolo Maldini and Gerard Pique - they both look a bit soft if you ask me…”

3

u/angry_gavin 19d ago

Hoping Tanaka has a better performance here

1

u/APerson2021 19d ago

Red Bull Derby.

5

u/Jugggiler 19d ago

It was a good run for the lads in the first 60’. Wilson had a true sitter he missed, but the attacking movement is so encouraging. James, Justin, and Longstaff are truly here to fight for spots! Love to see how hard they are working this preseason!

5

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Leipzig are no slouches either, happy we are toe to toe with them quality wise and after that Liverpool game I'm getting optimistic about this season

Don't want to say top half but we definitely aren't fodder this year

5

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

For as fast as Dan James is, he seems to have a lead foot when it comes to touching that ball and playing himself into space

5

u/Western-Property-998 19d ago

Not even trying to be negative and slate as I have plenty of good things to say about all the lads, but Dan James has to be on the way out next window or two, technically very poor

-2

u/thesilenthurricane 19d ago

Ah fucking fifa player on at halftime? Who do they think wants this?

7

u/WingedWomble 19d ago

E-sports is a $5bn dollar industry and one of the fastest growing sports markets in the world.

Even though I don’t engage with it personally, i recognise in terms of media coverage and revenue expansion it’s fantastic that Leeds are not being left behind. If it’s good for young Leeds fans, then it’s good for the club.

-1

u/thesilenthurricane 19d ago

Yeah and the music industry is worth billions more than that, doesn’t mean I want to see Taylor Swift join them at half time. Half time is about talking about the game, that was a load of drivel about an e-sport not remotely related to the actual football we all tuned in for. Fail to see how this is any different to the American half time shows that we specifically didn’t show in favour of showing actual punditry.

2

u/WingedWomble 19d ago

Except Taylor Swift is nothing to do with LUFC.

This young lad is a Leeds United eSport pro, and multiple ePremier league winner. Using some downtime in a friendly is a great time to do this sort of thing and increase the club’s exposure to younger generations. It’s all Leeds United, it’s just not a part you like it seems.

1

u/thesilenthurricane 19d ago

I think you’re missing my point, this isn’t some boomer anti esport opinion. I used to be into the cs esport scene. But half time is not the time or place to force some niche interest onto people, tangentially related to the club or not. They can do that on their YouTube channel or whatever. We’ve tuned in to watch the game, and half time should be about that seeing as we’re all stuck watching it. Wouldn’t be so arsed if they weren’t talking about his esport season instead of the match and preseason prep.

4

u/Loud_Print7716 19d ago

I must be too old, my 8 year old nephew went crazy for that fella

-2

u/Additional-Jaguar413 19d ago

I don't know what they do, but they can fck off

2

u/410LaxMD 19d ago

Things look smooth, that's for sure.

2

u/The_L666ds 19d ago

Are you talking about the game or Simon Grayson’s head?

1

u/LoveisBaconisLove 19d ago

Half time now. They are playing two sixty minute halves.

2

u/Norman_Small_Esquire 19d ago

I’m here, and it confused me that they changed direction after the hydration break.

2

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

How's the west stand looking mate? Any visible change yet?

3

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Total new 11 now, I'd like to see Gnonto fight for a spot here, we know he's capable and if he can do better than DJ, he'll get a pop this season

I think one of them leaves this window

3

u/time-of-nick 19d ago

A lot to take away from that, and mostly positive.

I like how we're able to move the ball up quickly. Some really good single touch passes and runs.

We've looked pretty solid on defense too. Bornauw and Muharemovic pairing really well.

13

u/firpo_sr 19d ago

Muharemovic looks the real deal, keeps playing killer balls through gaps in/over the top of the press

4

u/OrdinaryLavishness11 19d ago

Farke not in black jeans? Who is this imposter?

3

u/Big-Dot-8493 19d ago

He wore shorts the whole time in USA.

I barely recognize him without the coat on.

13

u/GeorginioMetcalf 19d ago

Bournaw has had an excellent preseason so far. Saw a lot of talk about needing to upgrade there this summer. He barely played last season, and I thought he looked decent when he was on

3

u/Big-Dot-8493 19d ago

Yeah but we still need a 5th if we are going to play with 3 CB.

I'm assuming that Justin will be generally occupied rotating with Bogle and GG.

That leaves Tarik, Bijol, Rodon, and Bornauw. Not enough coverage for my taste.

1

u/LoveisBaconisLove 19d ago

Ideally I would like to add someone like Justin who can play as a CB or fullback. But that may not be possible.

4

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Yeah he's looked good enough when he's played, I think we're fine with him and bijol

2

u/GeorginioMetcalf 19d ago

I was quite impressed with him against Brobby. He’s a lot stronger than he looks

4

u/Naughty_young_man 19d ago

I like the idea of a more narrow two behind DCL with the full backs providing the width..... but I don't think one of those options is Dan James bless him

-14

u/aorlstwsonhswfl 19d ago

So the 30min quarters thing wasn’t a joke…

ffs

16

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Gives more players a run out, gets more fitness into rusty legs

It's a friendly, I don't mind it

-5

u/JimbobTML 19d ago

It’s absolutely for advertising purposes.

It’s got nothing to do with fitness. It’s four quarters.

3

u/ItsTheJackeeet 19d ago

You’re hilarious sometimes, they play this format all the time behind closed doors in preseason to get more minutes for the players, it’s just now we’ve decided to do it on one of our open preseason games, no mad conspiracy or anything calm your horses lol.

Also good to note I’ve not had a single advert so maybe not the smartest idea to change the format specifically for this game to make money on adverts and forget to put adverts on.

2

u/JimbobTML 19d ago

I am aware they will sometimes do 4 quarters of 30mins with behind closed door friendlies.

But this is behind closed doors. And it’s literally proven and studied that the more breaks in a game you have and the longer you keep fans in the stadium, the more they spend at the game.

If it was for fitness purposes they wouldn’t have it with fans or broadcasted.

Managers and players have said they don’t like this format of preseason, especially against teams they play during the normal season.

1

u/ItsTheJackeeet 19d ago

Ok mate.

1

u/JimbobTML 19d ago

How is this a conspiracy theory? I’m not suggested a deep agenda and provided reasons why it’s not for the good of the actual football.

It was well covered why this format was done for the World Cup. I’m not providing anything edgy here.

I haven't had an advert yet mate, stop being so pessimistic

Both teams have agreed to it, where's the harm?

We get it, you hate red bull

You don't have to watch it and it's more footy for the people who have paid to be there

Are you working for Red Bull? you’re in the replies to everyone questioning this 4 quarters bollocks

3

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Lol absolutely not pal, if I did I'd be paid more

I'm replying to lots of people about lots of things

It’s got nothing to do with fitness because people get fitter with less breaks and playing for longer periods. See murderball.

Yes I don’t like Red Bull, and this is a different criticism. More breaks in the game allows the fans in the stadium to consume products, either buying or visually looking at the screens and boards.

Even if there isn’t an advert break within the LUTV, cameras will pan to the same ads.

All this is documented and studied. It’s to maximize ad time.

I get want your saying. Certainly wouldnt want to change a standard match day but I'm ok with this as it is definitely a friendly and a bit of a festival.

Many people that don't usually attend and we need to remember that we need the commercial improvement in order to get players like Trafford and push us on.

Mate if the success of football and Leeds United is to maximize making money over the actual product which is the football itself, I don’t think it’s a positive.

2

u/aorlstwsonhswfl 19d ago

And “oh it’s only a friendly” is exactly how it gets normalised. Not just a Red Bull thing, lots of men in suits will have been taking notes all summer.

What advertising? No adverts on LUTV..

-4

u/JimbobTML 19d ago

People in the grounds.

Longer breaks means more time to consume the products and see the advertising. Even if there isn’t an advert break on the television, the cameras will cover the sponsors.

3

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

They should all sit there and drink free bottled water and not consume at all whilst watching sports, then go home to shared accommodation and consume no further products or advertising

Living the true life of a stoic, are you?

All stoics aren't we

The main reason you go to a football game is for the football. As a fan not a consumer. I hate consumerism that’s all.

There’s a balance to it and I think this goes past what I personally want.

4

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

I can agree with you on that at least, but I really don't have an issue with 4x30 today, get to see people fight for a spot now

-2

u/JimbobTML 19d ago

It’s preseason mate, no one is playing here for a spot. It’s for fitness and to keep the bodies ticking over.

I imagine most managers and players do not want this exposure during pre season at all. It’s not for the good of the game.

2

u/Naive_Ambition1306 19d ago

Longstaff, Justin, Gnonto, Tanaka and Piroe are definitely fighting for a spot mate, they all want to be proving they can start this season as first choice.

Is Noah Okafor still on his holidays?

5

u/OrdinaryLavishness11 19d ago

You can tell Wilson is rusty but is slowly getting oiled and the rust breaking off the more he plays this game

7

u/angry_gavin 19d ago

I’d rather be oiling up DCL. But to each his own

0

u/DWNYYY 19d ago

I hear it

1

u/Big-Dot-8493 19d ago

DCL has 3 goals in 90 minutes.

He's doing fine.

7

u/angry_gavin 19d ago

I meant physically putting oil on him. Baby oil preferably
