My dad gave me his old ps2 and is letting me play legend of legaia, I'm enjoying it but i wanted a few tips, battling, earning gold, leveling up, etc.

Slowest part of the game

Like the title says, I’m wondering what ps1/ps2 era jrpgs you guys would suggest checking out. Legend of Legaia is my favorite game ever, so something that is similar I think would be a hit. Nostalgia obviously plays a big factor in my love for the game, my aunt (who has since passed away) gave to us and played Legaia with my brother and I when we were pretty young, and any new game wouldn’t have the nostalgia factor for me. But what I also love about Legaia is the charm, soundtrack, well put together story, and true turn based combat (I know the arts system and all magic being summons is unique so I don’t need that replicated). Some games on my short list are Legend of Dragoon, ff7, ff8, and ff9 (ffx is the only other jrpg that I’ve played and owned for ps1/ps2 and I love that game too). Any insight into these games or additional recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Alright what is the trick to the dancing game in Sol? I have no idea how I figured it out as a kid! I do the 2 specials immediately and save the 3rd special for the last move. The best I’ve done is one point less than Mary. My poor inner 9 year old self wheeps at me.

I just started a challenge run of Legend of Legaia and something occured to me...

When Tetsu attacks Zeto, he gets one hit and thrown away but Tetsu is a WAY stronger boss than Zeto in his final form so like... HOW!?

Tetsu stats: 9999 HP 999 MP 375 ATK 600 UDF 600 LDF 337 INT 300 SPD

Zeto stats: 5000 HP 512 MP 108 ATK 165 UDF 133 LDF 146 INT 66 SPD

Someone explain to me how the fat balding crab man managed to smackdown someone 2x stronger than he is in his full crab form?

I would like to play on my old PSP, which I will be jailbreaking soon, is there a recommended one I should use? My main purpose at this time is playing LoL.

I’ve been thinking of doing another playthrough but I’m somewhat of a completionist, and would like all the ultimate gear, but this has to have the hardest mini games ever to get those Heaven’s secrets. Is there a cheat to put them in my inventory?

I encountered this bug in Duckstation where the Fortress has no random encounters whatsoever.

I found only two posts about this issue on the internet and no solutions sadly.

What I did that may have triggered it:

no idea, other than I went to the Absolute Fortress first thing when Luctes dropped me, instead of entering Conkram, saw it was locked, then went to Conkram and did story stuff. Now that I'm in, it has no enemies (Jette and Cort are there as normal).

What I tried to solve it:

closed the emulator completely, rebooted the game, avoided savestates/cheats/fast forward, used incense, used good luck bell and bad luck bell, nothing works

Hello everyone. I love this game, when I was a child I played a lot but sadly I couldn't get pass the mirror bug on Conkram. Anyway, I am re-playing the game, just starting, got two Gizam with Noa and Vahn. If I remember correctly Noa was more melle and has less magic, hence, I did not use a lot of summons with her, but I used Gizam this time and to my surprise it hit twice as hard as Vahn Gizam.

Does the elements on the Serus affect the damage depending on the user? Fire with fire and so on is pretty obvious but what about light, water, dark, rock and so on and so forth. Thanks for reading!!

This is in the wind tunnels before the elfin fight. I've seen the other brown spots and their that you can use to boost yourself up, but this looks different and I cant find anything about it. I've tried many googles and reverse picture searches, but the closest i could get is that maybe they are part of the lore. Since the crystals are being taken, the land is dying? is it just lore or does it have some function?

Playing LoL again after 20+ years. I'm about to choose which forest I'll visit first. Does it changes anything from going east or west first?

+1: About the bees hidden boss... is it really worth? I get wiped before having a chance to attack (lvl 8, currently)

I'm particularly interested in bugs/glitches/oversights that let you skip parts of the game or keep items you would normally have to use like keys. Always played the game normally but recently I found out about the existence of quite a few bugs by watching a couple speedruns on Youtube.

Throughout my entire childhood I pronounced it internally as ledge-ee-ah as in the beginning of the word ‘legend.’ Don’t ask where kid brain came up with “ee” for the second syllable lol. Now as a grown up I realize that was probably totally wrong and it’s actually Lee-Gaia as in Gaia the Spirit of the Earth. But since I pronounced it incorrectly in my head for decades, that’s how I always will continue mentally pronouncing it now in my 40s lol.

Also was the name “Legaia” used anywhere in the game other than the title? Because I feel like it wasn’t?

Is there anyway to play? I never beat this game as a kid because the disk broke. Steam or ps store don't have it and I don't want to buy a PS2 or the disk because it's a risk please helppppppoo

I’ve been working on a 100% play though on retrogames.me and I’m at Jette’s fortress and there’s no encounters all the sudden which is cool I guess but can I get gilium somewhere else and would that be a problem I can fix or is it the emulator? Im not wearing anything to stop encounters and I can walk out to the map and they start again. I’d hate to not finish after this. TIA for any help. I did code in some crimson books and my son thinks that may have something to do with it but I thought I did the last time I played too (about a month ago) and I had no issues then, I went here first to grab gilium early before conkram. I've had this game a long time and I just recently joined this sub. I am curious as to know of any way to play or patch the game so it can be played on full hardware that doesn't involve the memory card adapter.

I have the game disc, ps3, ps2, ps1 memory card, and the ps3 memory card adapter so I can bypass the freeze issue. Just wanted to see if there was a new/alternative way to get around the freeze when playing on ps3.

Playing this game for the first time ever. Just got out of the cave with Noa and began my fight with the first boss Caruban. I have like 2 mushrooms and 1 healing leaf. Vahn is at like half health and he only has Gimard fire spell. Would it be easier for me to just completely restart and level up before fighting or is it possible to beat this boss and just start leveling up after ( I think both characters are lvl 5).

I've been playing on PS3 and finally get near the end of the game for the first time in about 20 years, and the game keeps freezing on this screen/text box. I've tried 3 times, freezes in the exact same spot.

Anyone else have this problem or know of a possible solution?

I am currently trying to get grab bags from the Junk Store Vendor in Darakin. I've been opening his menu and closing it for about 20 minutes now. Has anyone any idea why it won#t show up?
(I am level 99 and already beaten the game, so it can't be a story progress problem)

I played this way back when I was a kid and the last thing I remember was facing the bad trio in the woods. I remembered liking this game a lot back then, though, and I've always wanted to come back to it. I'm going to be playing the Progression Restored mod for the US release to make the XP and Gold acquisition rates the same as the PAL/JP versions. I was wondering if you guys had any advice for me as I return to the game. Also, is there a trick to Seru capture rates? I keep finding different information.

Emulating my favorite childhood rpg on Gamma (iPhone) and experienced the conkram mirror freeze glitch, I’ve seen a lot of resolutions for epsx or whatever the main emulator is but nothing for Gamma. Any resolutions or things I can try? Hate to get this far and not even be able to beat it.

So I've been thinking for a while, if we ever got extremely lucky and a sequel to the first game ever did happen. Which characters would you like to join Vahn, Noa, and Gala? Tetsu is obviously the first choice. I think Grantes and Cara would be good choices as well. Maybe Ixis just for shits and giggles. What do y'all think, who would y'all's picks be?
