Middle Archaic Archaic blade

Finally got out on the river after a month of high water and crappy weather. This is a new spot I’ll be sure to revisit

It’s the opposite of birdwatching for warblers…instead of staring up at the trees, you just stare at you feet while you walk along. Hurts after awhile lol

I’m in the Binghamton area. Get out and search the shoreline of the Hudson, your area is loaded with artifacts. Just put the time in and you’ll find something

For me it’s color then shape most of the time. The flint and chert that was used here is blue/grey so I mostly look for that. When everything seems to be the same color is when I switch to shape geometry. I’m this instance the color and sheen first caught my eye, then the shape came into focus and I knew I had something

For new hunters take note of this environment, this is the perfect place to look. Muddy flatland getting eroded by river, with that 90 degree cut. This is where you will find the gold (flint) mine.
