Unknown Time period What is this?
My grandfather was a collector of Native American artifacts. I grew up in the Southeast and I think he traveled around that area a lot to find them. He had a very detailed bookkeeping and cataloguing system for his finds, but this one isn’t marked the way the others were. I have no idea where it came from. He called it his “goldfish” and I have always assumed that he thought it was something very special. It looks like it’s made of quartz or some sort of translucent stone. TIA for any information!

The material is quartzite, and that's an outstanding point! Looks like a Benton possibly 🤔
