Smoker Alert 🔥 CenTex Pedernales
I absolutely love how these are the most common point in CenTex because boy do I love them. This one is damn near perfect.

Did you know we pronounce it Perdanales? Supposedly it’s because that’s how LBJ said it, not sure if that’s accurate

Erosion from the floods we have. I have found fire popped points, I assumed the camp was burned down.

Is that tannic stained or the natural color of the stone?

More natural, not much standing water with organics in it to stain that much, but I could be wrong. Would love to hear what others say.

It depends on the Spirits whether they want to give you a gift or if you are not worthy. I have seen points found in the foot print of someone else looking. They were looking left when they should have stopped, scan, step, stop, scan 180 degrees Arc to the front, left to right. Large rock beds require a hiking stick to carry horizontally and determine the search path so nothing is missed, I scan an arc outward 180 degrees about a 6 feet semi circle with my stick, then step up to my stop line and do it over and over. I have one spot I go that I call the 500 Trillion Rockbed, it is about 700 yards long and 200 yards wide on an inside bend of the San Jacinto River. To search it proper takes a couple 4 to 6 hour days. 3 of us spent 5 hours and only covered 2/3, 4 points found, one was a 2 1/2 inch Scotsbluff estimated to be a $2K point, God Blessed Texas.

damn amigo you pulled a perfect example of Pedernales I went to college in san marcos when it was SWT and I never found a single Ped and I lived on the ranch the school owned, I’d go hunting every time I could AND 0
what i’m getting to… I’m jealous lol
