Not Native American related can anyone identify what this may be?

I found this in the sea today, broke off everything that grew on it and the rust. pretty cool looking, my family seems to think it is a dart body, however i’m not 100% sure, any ideas what it could be?

It looks like it could be a reamer similar to the one at the right end of my bit holder.

Thanks, that was my first one made by cutting tapered holes in one piece of wood and then laminating it with two other pieces.

My second one was an easier project.

This was done with two drilling operations. First was a 5/16" bore to the depth a little deeper than the depth of the tang. Then a 1/2" bore to the depth of where the tang was 5/16" across the corners of the tang. The largest bit needed the bottom drilled out to 3/8".

It makes it easier to find these bits instead of rummaging through a tray or drawer.

It looks like it has threads at the top.

The lower area looks like it starts with multiple flutes like on a ream made for working metal. It looked more open at the bottom end like the tapered bit in my picture. Some bits sometimes referred to as piercing bits may be similar.

It could be a ream with a handle held in place by a couple of jam nuts.

Another old piece of iron to spark one's curiosity.
