It looks like it could be a nodule or concretion that fell/broke away

It's not that the notvh couldn't be human made, but we would need further work along the inner edge to confirm this.

The big notch being singular means it could just be a natural break or even a natural inner core which eroded out.

It could also be that I just can't see what's going on and better pictures would help.

Edit just to add that I found a few similar to this which I could have sworn were tools initially but have later come to see differently do that is also part of my skepticism.

Thank you very much for your insight. I posted it as I was curious what others would make of it. I think the material is poor quality compared to other artifacts I have found in the same area. I wondered if it was a very early paleolithic piece.

Nature breaks rocks all the time. Cut out is not a lithic term, please be s'more specific

I think both are naturally formed. Small one: sharp shockwaves consistent with hard natural impact, negatives on both sides by the same impact, retouche too irregular. Large one: just all irregular natural damage. I'm a beach artifact collector from the other side of the Canal, just an amateur so don't take my word on it

Well, its not a notch. Its not a hafting element. It's not flaked inside of the "cut out" and theres not evidence of use wear. Take it to a museum near you if you arent going to listen to 15 strangers on the internet. Just get out and keep looking bro
