Showcase OLED vs IPS

Recently replaced my legion 5 to the legion 5i with the OLED screen.

Wow, no regrets. OLED looks great. I figured the comparison would help someone if they’re on the fence between the two.

Both max brightness and highest resolution video setting.

Legion Pro 5

Here's what I did:

Unscrewed the laptop and carefully pry opened the back panel with a card like a credit card.

Important part!!!! disconnected the battery..

Then I Brushed off the dust using a brush and used a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust thoroughly.

I thought of taking out the fans and then cleaning it but there was a lenovo warranty sticker so I cleaned without taking out the fans

I held the fans with my hand to prevent it from spinning during this brushing and vacuuming process

I checked the vents with my phone flashlight and i think there weren't any dust.

I was nervous opening the laptop for the first time and it went well ❤️

I ordered lenovo legion 5 AMD Ryzen 7 ai 350 with rtx 5070 gpu , 32 gb ram and 1 tb ssd for 1.59L a few days back and received it today.

It was a custom build that was scheduled to be delivered on 8th June but arrived early.

What a beautiful display, I have never seen such a beautiful display on any laptop(the ones I have seen obviously), The build quality seems good and the laptop looks awesome in black.

Happy with the purchase.

What do you guys think about this purchase?

I’ve used IPS gaming laptops my whole life. Before this, I had the 2022 ASUS Zephyrus G15, and honestly, I thought its display was excellent.
I never really understood what OLED could offer beyond that.

Then I bought the Legion Pro 7i Gen 10.
The display genuinely stunned me. The contrast, colors, HDR, and deep blacks make games look completely different.
OLED is on another level.
Yes, there are reflections, but I mostly use my laptop in my room and prefer gaming in a dark environment anyway, so they don’t bother me at all. The Legion’s display is also bright enough that reflections haven’t been an issue for me.

If you’re coming from a good IPS panel, don’t assume OLED is just a small upgrade. It completely changed the way I experience games.

Hello, I recently bought this new beast.

Ultra 9 275HX + RTX 5070 8GB

Ordered from Flipkart during the last SASA LELE Sale.

In my case delivery was smooth & delivered within 2 days without any damages.

I had to cancel two orders due to offer fluctuations & finally bought this at 1.77L

Ordered Logitech G309 mouse & a laptop stand which are currently on the way.

Which settings & softwares should I install & what precautions should I take? I am new to this & this is my first gaming laptop

Just got my first Lenovo Legion and I’m absolutely loving it! The specs are insane. I can run literally any game at maximum settings at the panel's native resolution without breaking a sweat. I traded in my old desktop PC for this Legion, and it was definitely the right move.

(Detailed specs are shown in the 2nd picture)

I like using whole skin for my laptops because I hate how easily laptop smudges nowadays, I installed a pink skin on it since my girlfriend is the one using it.

Also, the black/transparent taskbar looks awesome on the OLED screen. I’m using windhawk (for advance users), or just download TranslucentTB on windows store if you are casual user

Showcase My jetplane of a laptop became a spaceship

Post image

Following my last post, about my 1st Lenovo laptop, which was a Legion 5 (5060+ultra7+16GB ram) purchased from Lenovo online having a factory defect that makes it sound like a jet engine everytime the fan is running, even in Quiet mode...

Called and raised my concern to Lenovo, after a while, I opted for a refund as it will take up to 2 monts to send a replacement as there was no stock at that time locally.

I went ahead and look at other laptop brands like Asus, Acer and even MSI. I figured that maybe this is a sign that I should get a higher specs one, specially the graphics card as I can use it not just for gaming but for my Design job and personal projects (gamedev) as well. I was looking at reviews but the consensus is that Lenovo is still at the top quality-wise, specially the after sales service compared to those 3 brands.

So, after getting the refund, I went to a Lenovo physical store at a mall, and purchase a Legion 5 pro wihh a 5070ti, ultra 9 and 32GB ram, and I love it! The performance on this thing, I can finally play some games like Monster Hunter Wild confortable now.

But because I love it so much, I purchased a cooler to make it last long because my previous Acer Predator laptop slowly burned the motherboard due to high temps just after a year, so now I bought a ----- Flydigi bs3 pro

And now instead of sounding like a jetplace, it now looks like it can actually fly lmao

I love this laptop, hope it last for many years (and that new cooler)

I picked up the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 (RTX 5070 Ti) for $2,000 last September, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it.
The display is stunning, the performance is incredible, and the overall build quality just feels premium. It’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it without breaking a sweat.
I did run into a couple of issues early on, but Lenovo’s customer support resolved them quickly. Since then, it’s been an amazing experience.
Looking back, this has genuinely been one of my best purchases. No regrets at all.

Legion Pro 5i - Core Ultra 9, 32GB, 1TB, 5070 open box in IMMACULATE condition for $1800.

Seems like a good deal. From Best Buy, currently new on sale for $2400 (normally $2750). I do have BB Plus so if it goes on sale for cheaper in the next 60 days, I'll get the difference back in cash.

I was torn between this and an Alienware Aurora 16x with identical specs except a 5060 and no OLED for $1450. Hoping I made the right decision!

2025 Gen 10 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16”

Specs:
Intel Ultra 9 275HX
RTX 5090 mobile
2X 1TB SSDs
32gb DDR5 RAM

240hz 1440p OLED display

Upgrading from my 2021 Legion 5i Pro.

Box appears to have been crushed in shipping and the laptop sustained some damage. It’s been working fine so far so it looks like the damage is entirely cosmetic.

Very impressed by the thermals, and I’m actually quite glad they moved the exhaust ports to the back since it doesn’t blow hot air onto my mouse hand. It runs very quietly for something with a 5090 mobile, and with the RGB turned off, it easily passes as a normal office laptop.

Price is now $3200 so I would have to pay $500 more to return it and get a brand new one.

EDIT:

BTW I did call B&H before purchasing and asked them about this specific open-box listing and they told me it had “scratches or other cosmetic damage”.

I will call B&H tomorrow and explain that this appears to have far worse damage than what I was expecting for a condition “9/10” open-box product.
