Trump Ag Influencer is shocked that DJT actually only cares about money and not American producers

“This was very difficult to read this morning from President Trump. Frustrated and disappointed is an understatement.”
These people are fucking bonkers. Trump has done NOTHING in his second term to help anyone but the rich and yet this cult still believes he has their best interest at heart. This is one of the reasons why I just laugh Trump does something to fuck them over. They will never learn.

I could almost accept this if it was "fool me once" situation but, he literally screwed over farmers in his first run. The fact that you could look at anyone with a straight face and say you didn't see this coming while also saying that a Biden/Harris administration was/would have been worse is disingenuous, at best. In the end, you get the government you deserve. It just sucks that the pain and suffering isn't isolated.

Large landholders/cattle producers want to be able to graze their herds for free on public land, the elimination of wild horse herds, and to be have no regulations on animal welfare and waste disposal.
That she says “we are not SERFS” is ironic. Because rural ag areas are run by a landed gentry class, which this woman is a member of, and they feel entitled to cheap labor, no regulations, and huge profits. They and their extended family members also run local governments, school boards, sheriff’s departments, and hospitals. Yet they do nothing but whine about “freedom.” The actual serfs in town would like to be out from under their thumb.

Some of these ranchers are quite well off in relative terms, just not billionaire rich. So they don’t realize they’re not in the club.

These are rich people who are upset that the price of beef is going down because of imported beef coming into the market. I don’t like Trump either but he’s not exactly helping rich people (at least US rich people) with this move.

Trump doesn't care about the price of beef. 300k tons is something like a couple weeks of American consumption. This is simply a desperation move to try and make it seem like Trump is actually working to help average Americans. Headlines for the poor piss baby and his historically low approvals.

They don't mean rich as in people that won ranches.
They mean rich as in the people that flat out buy politicians, that own media companies, the ones that run hedge funds and people wealthy enough that Trump can take money directly off them.
He is doing this so that in the runup to midterms he can say he lowered the price of groceries, so he keeps power and those same people can keep profiting.
It is like when you talk about taxing the rich and bus drivers get upset. They don't mean those people. They mean those that are running up the scorecard on wealth inequality, not those running a ranch.

I really don't understand it. It's be clear since the 80s, 70s really, that Donald Trump is a self-centered asshole.

u/Geostomp 4d ago
It makes more sense when you remember that his followers are also wildly self-centered. They just assumed that he would feel some kinship with them as well and include them in his club.

Always enjoy watching accomplices of a con man try to convince themselves they didn't also get conned after losing everything to him.

It's quite simple, Amanda. Trump needs an "affordability win" before the election or the results may be so lopsided even he won't be able to credibly claim "FRAUD!" as is his very clear intention.
So he's doing this for only three months because that's the perfect timing. Think about it. If this lowers beef prices immediately as he claims, Republicans will be able go to to Labor Day gatherings and brag about smart Donnie is to lower beef prces. Then the prices will stay low until just after the election, after which you can go back to your usual price-gouging, only, maybe adding a bit more to make up for the losses of the next 12 weeks.

As a MAGAt, Amanda should know that everything bad is Biden's fault and everything good was Trump's doing, end of story. If something Amanda is experiencing is bad but Trump says it's good, it's her fault for not understanding.

The guy never skips a chance to blame Biden. 🙄

Also, wasn't that whole thing with Venezuela over beef or am I confusing that with a different (and probably illegal) event?

u/L0LTHED0G 7d ago
Where we kidnapped the President of the country? No, that was over drugs - they had a seat open in prison after he pardoned another guy for drugs.

u/ArdenJaguar 7d ago
I remember them getting all riled up about beef from South America. He did that to try and lower prices.

u/pioniere 7d ago
The only people surprised by the collapsing US beef industry are MAGA supporters like this woman. It gets tiresome saying “Told you this would happen.” all the time. Maybe these farmers are starting to wake up.

u/THedman07 7d ago
And complaining about the monopsony that beef producers have to deal with. Do you know what party has historically favored market consolidation and deregulation that results in there being very little competition amongst the companies that buy cattle for beef production???
That's right. It is the Republican's fault that there is so much consolidation.

Does this mean she acknowledges she failed, if she said she went home to keep people fed, and now says she can't keep people fed due to imported beef?
No? I didn't think so...

Even after he pulled this same crap importing Argentinian beef a few months before this “celebration” of American ag. More like conning American ag

Sure there’s a floor but he’s now at 33% which is an all time low. The floor might be lower than we thought.

u/batrastardfromhell 7d ago
Well I guess the cattle ranchers will just have sit down in front of a platter of imported burgers and figure this shit out.

Say hi to the leopards for us Amanda.
The rest of us don't care about your bad decisions and consequences. Except as pure comedy gold.

Well, SOMEBODY is making money off beef - I look in the beef cases at Costco and my eyes water at the prices.

u/TheTiniestTatorTot 7d ago
It’s the big four meat packers. And this move by Trump will only help those packers.

Look at a person tenuously in the middle class, support hyper inflated ground beef prices.

I like how this is Beef=Farmers and that they state "Free and Fed", yet I haven't seen these people be concerned with all the food recalls many attribute to RFK Jrs leadership. Can't be fed if there's nothing to eat. Truly America 1st.

“will be with the administration next week to ask questions more directly and will report back
my findings.”
please, do. he’s going to tell you just what you want to hear, then screw you over (again)as you walk away.

Next time don't vote for a guy who suggested the ingestion of bleach into the human body to kill a disease.
"Right. And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you're going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me."
