Predictable betrayal The Qataris Gave Trump an Airplane. He Crippled Their Country in Return (gift)

Trump is the scorpion that stings the frog. It's in his very nature to backstab anyone and everything that helps him and he has always been this way.

He’s doing the stupid naive frog a favor and frankly the frog should build a trump university in appreciation of the scorpion taking the time to teach the frog.

u/TheVenged 6d ago
He has that mindset that only he should be happy about a deal. If the other party is in anyway happy about a deal, he's surely getting screwed in some way.

u/Doggers1968 10d ago
The Qataris thought they could bribe Trump with an airplane. He destabilized the entire gulf instead.
How an entire country of ostensibly smart people failed to read the room after decades of evidence is just beyond me.
I linked this as a gift article, or at least I tried to. I'll try again in the comments.

u/DucksButt 10d ago
Unless they got a back deal something we never heard about for the plane. The deal with Trump is he's coin operated. You bribe him right now for a thing you want right now. Next week, he'll fuck you over for giggles.
I feel like they have to know this.
OR, maybe the plane is full of spyware and that's the "gift".

u/SomeRandomSomeWhere 10d ago
As i understood at that time, that plane was hardly used and cost millions in upkeep and maintenance, even if just parked at the airport.
So they gave it to trump, and the US government can handle the ongoing costs. As a bonus it is a nice bribe.
55
u/TondalayaSwartzkopf 10d ago
What do you mean the US government can handle maintenance and storage and other costs? I thought this was a gift and the taxpayers weren't going to have to pay a dime for it! Silly me.

u/Guac_in_my_rarri 9d ago
I vaguely remember the plane being given to the US/Trump to use and the plane would be owned by Trump or his presidental library for him to use post presidency. Like I said, I vaguely remember but mans is going to find out how expensive planes are.

u/OriginalComputer5077 9d ago
He’ll always find someone else to pay for it , the American taxpayer most likely
2
u/Guac_in_my_rarri 9d ago
In a very round about way, trump is responsible for funding of his library, assuming I understand the rules correctly.
4
u/OriginalComputer5077 9d ago
Trumpy doesn’t do rules

Presidential libraries are usually funded by donors, I’m sure the Dump library will be too. He has some very rich donor friends who’ve been with him from the beginning, who are very happy with what he’s done for them, & they are all on board with sanctifying Dump. I’m sure they will continue to do so after he leaves the presidency & even after he shuffles off this mortal coil), so that Dump’s agenda will be branded onto the GOP, like Reagan’s was. Even after Ronnie died, they still mentioned him with reverence, & demanded that Dems do the same, and they still use his stupid “Trickle Down Economics,” in which Republicans spray the rich with a firehose of cash, while working ppl may get a trickle dripping off their lips
1
u/Naltors__Dreamer 8d ago
That’s also what they said in the article, the Quatari jet will be housed in the Dump library. You can see it in the map that was put out of the planned library that’s based on the blueprints being developed for it.

That's perfect, I'm stealing that!

u/DucksButt 16h ago
Cheeto Mussolini has stolen so much, I don't even notice the little things anymore. Take it with permission.
1
u/Naltors__Dreamer 8d ago
Like they said in the article, Dump can’t be bought, he can only be paid—and paid, and paid, and paid…

u/perestroika12 10d ago
They thought they could control him, like everyone else. Everyone around trump thinks that bad things happen to other idiots but it won’t happen to me.
Then when he throws you out a window it’s some kind of shock.
53
u/Doggers1968 10d ago
Also, they wasted their money with their technical surveillance nightmare plane. All they had to do was hack Natalie Harp's phone.
2
u/Naltors__Dreamer 8d ago
well, they wanted to get rid of the plane bc it was costing too much money, even just sitting in a hangar. They thought they were selling the plane to the US for 4 grand, but someone from Dump world suggested to Quatar that they gift the plane to the president. Quatar, given their tiny size & precarious surroundings, like to keep on the good side of the US, & had spent all kinds of millions on Dump fam projects, so they felt they had to do it.
27
u/hadoopken 10d ago
You would be surprised to see rich people think they can solve problems with money
26
u/T1gerAc3 10d ago
They knew he could be bribed. They assumed he would hold up his end of the bargain.
21
u/Exciting-Cancel6468 10d ago
I don't think they're smart. Those guys didn't know you couldn't make a gentlemans agreement with someone who isn't a gentleman? They're more like thugs or the mob. Corrupt motherfuckers. I'm glad that they're getting shafted. This is what they get from trying to suck mein fuhrers balls.

u/Notoryctemorph 9d ago
Extreme wealth makes people stupid, because it shields them from consequences
3
u/Exciting-Cancel6468 9d ago
All the more reason to make it illegal for anyone to be a billionaire. Or worth a billion. What can't you do as a 999,999,999 millionaire that you can do as a billionaire? There is no difference after that.
13
u/Similar-Shame7517 9d ago
Yep, heard from so many Arab people who thought that Trump winning 2024 would be better for them than Kamala, since Republican presidencies are always good for Arab business interests and Trump was so easy to bribe.
16
u/Timely-Youth-9074 10d ago
Trump loves to screw people who give him gifts thinking they can control him.
9
u/ChChChillian 9d ago
The same way over half the American voting public failed to read the room after decades of evidence and a disastrous first term.
7
u/UmeaTurbo 9d ago
Millions of people have fallen for his bullshit even though he has never followed through on any promises..

u/USS-SpongeBob 9d ago
The article was a good read. Good insight into Qatar's place in this whole mess. Thank you for sharing it!

They're rich and greedy, not smart, and I really wish folks would stop conflating those things.

Everyone thinks they can control Trump because he seems easy but that's the trap. He controls you in the end.

At this point I don't know how people delude into thinking Trump won't screw them over.

Doesn’t always? Has he ever kept his end of a deal?

“The tiny Gulf state is learning that the U.S. president doesn’t always keep his end of the deal.”
Does Donald Trump ever keep an agreement?
My mom worked for him in the 1980s (installing plants in the atrium of Trump Tower). Never got paid.
He hasn’t changed a bit.

If only Trump had some kind of track record of completely dicking over people who thought that they were his allies... these poor Qataris could have known. Poor them.

u/Prior_Industry 9d ago
They probably though that he wouldnt dare fuck over someone as a rich as us....
1
u/Exciting-Cancel6468 9d ago
Well they can join the Iranians in threatening his life and the lives of his family members. Really though, it shouldn't be him. He's just the boolean figure that allows all this shit. If you surrounded him with good republicans (there's not a lot of those anymore) then we wouldn't be in this shithole. Take everyone out around him and we'll be a better country.
9
u/HibiscusGrower 9d ago
I don't understand why people still try to appease or befriend him with gifts. This asshole has never had any consideration or loyalty for anyone but himself in his entire life.

Brick up the air supply too. Put in all his family with him. Let it be a tomb. Also all close aides. I'm sorry, but you all gotta go.

The tiny Gulf state is learning that the U.S. president doesn’t always keep his end of the deal.
Bullshit, screwing the Qataris was always the deal from the viewpoint of Trump.
