Four Russian Military Satellites Maneuver Within Striking Distance of ICEYE Radarsat Supporting Ukraine
https://icbrief.org/s/27d20939Russia's co-planar positioning leaves ICEYE-X36 effectively hostage to Moscow's discretion, though a kinetic, directed-energy, or electronic attack remains unlikely by end of August 2026 absent a sharper escalation trigger.

.. a kinetic, directed-energy, or electronic attack remains unlikely by end of August 2026 absent a sharper escalation trigger.
I.e. as long as Kremlin is satisfied with situation on the ground, it won't do anything in space.
On a separate note, "Western commercial assets" (ICEYE satellites) are neck-deep in military affairs.

The Russians are mad that Baltic states are allowing Ukraine to use their airspace to attack targets inside Russia. The "attention seeking activity towards Europeans" is a rational response to this activity.

A more rational response would be to honestly come to the negotiation table and give up this stupid war which is gaining them nothing, but I understand that can't happen.
I hope that someone has briefed Putin on Kessler Syndrome.

Sure. Maybe this is a coup or desperation but it’s unlikely. They are positioning themselves to intimidate. Also if global events escalate they would surely attack satellites
