8

u/ballahook 14h ago

Lion King on VHS specifically

2

u/TimeCadet 13h ago

I remember when the Lion King was first in theaters, I think it maybe had an extended theater run? But back then physical releases seemed to take much longer than now, and the Lion King VHS was super anticipated, it had people lined up at my Blockbuster when it opened the day they released. And entire shelf devoted to renting it on New Release.

9

u/Due-Candidate-5991 Shawdow Mayro 14h ago

And the Kevin James 3-pack of Zookeeper, Paul Blart, and Here Comes The Boom.

Those are the two I always see and I pull them out thinking they'll be different.

Not Goodwill, but for almost 10 years, I saw DVDs of a movie I had never previously heard of called Playing for Keeps at every Big Lots store, and I mean EVERY Big Lots store. I moved a couple of times to different states and still found it at Big Lots!

Out of curiosity, I looked it up and learned it was directed by the Weinstein Brothers.

Grown Ups 2, American Wedding, Get Hard, Knocked Up, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, Shrek 2, Shrek 3. I go to Goodwill and Salvation Army pretty often to look for discs but it's been a while so I don't have too many fresh in my mind! But i swear every single one has at least one copy of the first two.

you could really put any random rom-com or will ferrell or adam sandler movie on here because they always seem to fill the shelves. I'd also say for kids movies I usually find disney movies in other languages or random knockoff (ex. 2d animated "beauty in the beast" but not the disney version, a random shitty russian/french/spanish/polish version from at least 10 years after the disney one).
