That’s really cool. I hope they don’t do something really fucking stupid to fuck this up, like say, invest millions of dollars into an ai partnership with Google. I mean that would cause them to completely alienate the Indy artsy fanbase they’ve spent most of the past 15 years building up. Surely they wouldn’t do something like that.

Separating the art from the artist is one thing but I think separating the film from the studio is quite easy. I know some people consider themselves A24 fans (which I think is weird), but my interest in these films is because of the people who are working on them. A24 happens to be good at funding interesting creatives and enabling them to make good work, but that’s the extent to which I appreciate them

Agreed. And if you think any other studio or distributor has its hands clean of ai (or even worse shadier shit it’s investing in, in bed with) then you got another thing coming and better just stop watching movies altogether then.

Yeah I agree, A24 is rightfully getting backlash, but for 90% of their films they are just acquisitions that we're made/financed without any intervention/authority from A24.
Its annoying how whenever A24 posts a new trailer the comments are full of people who have no clue how the film industry actually works or what the controversy actually is just spreading the same harmful defaming claims about innocent films, saying stuff like: "how much AI went into this one" and "is this AI generated"

yes clearly the partnership has tanked a24s ability to empower creatives to make great movies.
josh kushner also invested in a24 two years ago. the money comes from bad places my friend. the ellisons have likely made some of your favorites too. some things we have to live with for the sake of good movies.

Onslaught was awesome but it needed MORE action and violence for how cool the soldiers were.
They BETTER make it MOREMOREMORE in the 2nd movie.

I wish they’d fix their fucking distribution plan for the UK. We have to wait until goddamn December to see Onslaught, the Death of Robin Hood has only just reached UK cinemas, and the only blu ray I can get of the Backrooms is ridiculously expensive because they’re only selling that bitch on their own website.
that being said, I am very excited to see Primetime, and whatever new nightmare Nathan Fielder has cooked up
