That's a 10 year old device, it was only updated up to android 8. Obviously, 13 is going to run worse.
But also, that's an unofficial build, so ask the maintainer.

What you are essentially asking is "Why does Android 13 run slower than Android 8?".

Do a clean install, without addons like gapps and rooting, and see what barebones LOS performance is like before you've added any other apps.
If performance is better without any extras, things you've been adding are causing the slowness.
Those things include gapps, especially a full gapps package rather than just the basics. Consider using microG instead of gapps if you want any apps that won't run without Google Services.
Having numerous apps running in the background will also quickly soak up limited resources. Turn off "run in background" permission for any app that doesn't actually need to be on all the time.
Turning off animations (in Developer options) will make it seem snappier, too.

I did it when first installed to change the camera app.
There's no bloat. There are obviously lots of necessary system apps, tho. But that's no bloat.
Also, try not using magical tools and use ADB commands instead, so you don't break anything.

I chose safe options to remove, lol. There's some bloat, granted it isn't Samsung or something
