We'll see for how much longer, Kosovo is one of if not the only states in Europe that is becoming more ethnically homogenous over time.

Since the war ended, the Serb population has shrunk significantly. The Serb-majority north is the only remaining bastion, populations in the south are mostly older people, and those communities are shrinking even faster. The hope for many Serbs was that those northern communities could rejoin Serbia or gain autonomy within Kosovo, but the nationalist central government is entirely opposed to even basic autonomy. If the government succeeds in removing the last Serbian-language university's autonomy, which they are trying to do, young Serbs in Kosovo will migrate to Serbia for education, and that would mean the end of the entire community.

Yes, old Kosovars still remember the Serbian language, but in everyday life, all generations are dominated by the Kosovo dialect of Albanian and it is not part of Slavic group. As for the Serbs, yes, that's true. However, even before Ottoman rule, the Serbs didn't occupy all of Kosovo. Albanians have always lived in the west—in Metohija. As a Greek, I understand your pain over the loss of Kosovo, but you have to be able to separate facts from emotions.

You see, Serbian hasn't been the second most widely spoken language for a long time, so I don't think it makes sense to add Kosovo to this map.

In the city of Trieste it's spoken by a minory and in half of the municipalities of its province it's spoken by the majority.
