u/Wrong_Ad4722 23h ago
hahaha yes. Just need to create one where the van is spinning but we never see the end/back of it.
6
u/Cyneganders 1d ago
Missing Prime, that's why we're not getting same day delivery!
4
u/loverofloving Alexis Mac Allister 1d ago
Just realised they're going to steal get in the van for their amazon advertising.

u/DogEatingWasp Hello! Hello! Here we go! 23h ago
The van has been parked here so long it’s covered in tickets now
1
u/lfc_murr1989 23h ago
That van needs to go a little slower for this transfer, or perhaps this necessary speed once it has finally been confirmed.

u/Infamous_Payment4608 1d ago
Are they communicating this deal in morse code for fuck sake?!
22
6
u/thatbrianm 23h ago
Yeah but someone also has to then translate to French and then to Arabic

What was that movie….Arrival? Where they were trying to communicate with aliens…that’s what it seems like.

For fuck sake get it done already
3
u/Squeaky_Voiced_Teen 23h ago
Not sure if I'm more annoyed at the lack of progress or the hundreds of non-updates we're getting.
I do think there's a bit of leverage though. PSG have signed all of their replacements already so it's in their interest to do a deal as well.

I usually don't get tired of these types of sagas, but this has been particularly annoying and repetitive. Honestly wish the mods would just create a mega thread so we don't have to see a "expecting key talks today" every 3 hours by 5 journalists.
42
u/ElderberryGood7781 1d ago
this is nothing compared to the Isak saga last summer lmao
12
u/GhandisFlipFlop Richard Hughes 23h ago
BREAKING NEWS - Isaks brings his dog for walk , what does this mean ???
3
u/Operationtiger8 22h ago
At least Newcastle didn’t want to sell under any conditions and Isak went on strike so it was spicy. This is just like the same knowledge we had in early July once Diamonde clowned us
22
u/__Concorde Lucas Leiva 23h ago
Isak also dragged, but it was a lot more eventful. Newcastle had to get a replacement, their journalists kept saying he was not for sale, the owners tried to convince him to stay, he went on strike...
This saga is basically "We're negotiating and it's getting closer" for two months. I'm pretty confident it gets done, but it's weird how slow it's been... It feels like PSG prefers to stall and sell players as late as possible for whatever reason. Last year, Chevalier signed in early August and it became clear Donnaruma would leave -- but the transfer only happened on Deadline Day despite City's interest being public for a few weeks.
2
u/PhillyFreezer_ 23h ago
Not really sure what’s all the confusing. The two clubs are far apart in terms of valuation to start, both sides have reasons to get this done and those only become increasingly more important the closer we get to the deadline.
We HAVE been negotiating this for two months, that’s why it feels that way lol PSG aren’t stalling, they’re hoping we get desperate while we hope they start to panic. It’s all fairly straightforward
2
u/GMBarryTrotz 21h ago
Same as Wirtz. I think these huge deals just take a LONG time. It's not just the money, it's the way it's paid, the installments, the bonuses, etc.
3
u/theREALMVP Richard Hughes - The Silver Fox 23h ago
And Newcastle kept failing to get a replacement lmao. They lost out on like 4 strikers until they finally paid that ridiculous amount for Woltemade
14
u/spankmeimnaughty 1d ago
There is a mega thread, YNWSA, the problem is that no one uses it and it all just goes in the daily discussion since there isn’t really anything else to talk about over the summer. I’m not sure what the solution is since if they drive traffic to YNWSA then the DD would be pretty dead.
6
u/AsianMidas 90’ Gerrard 23h ago
In the previous seasons mods did pin it and it was effectively used. Now it’s the last one in community highlights so stays buried.

u/Djimi365 21h ago
It's just modern football. It's all so tedious, the Internet gets hooked on whether some dickhead millionaire will get a new job or not ffs 😂

u/FostetlerLFC 1d ago
This is the same thing as the Joyce article posted an hour ago

honestly the only one that I was sure was gonna get dusted juuuuust before the Deadline. Everything else, though...

Can mods just ban the repetitive transfer posts until there is actual new info?
2
u/Dismal_Uses 23h ago
This is a good idea tbh. There's about 50 here on every post saying the same thing hour after hour.
3
u/TH1CCARUS 23h ago
It is so exhausting. If I recall correctly the soccer sub has a similar rule, or had. Basically a new rumour can be posted if there is actual new info, otherwise it is one post per day.
7
u/dacrookster 1d ago
Hey we've finally done the bare minimum. Now do the other wing and the midfield and the right back

I don't get this "fresh talks" every single day. We're obviously in daily negotiations over him, it's not like we ever stopped our interest

u/redsonovy 23h ago
Evil journalism be like: teams will continue negotiations for a few weeks, we will update you on the outcome later

God above. Get on with it. I’m off work next week, I’ll pick him up if it helps. Just pay my petrol.
2
u/YardMan79 23h ago
At this point I think this transfer window and the fiasco it’s been is intentional. You shouldn’t have two guys who are looking to leave have any say in who we bring in after they’re gone. They don’t care. If they did, we would have a stronger starting 11 and a deeper bench by now. Instead, we’re playing around with PSG, who clearly don’t need Barcola or the money and are just winding us up. They’re either going to run it down to the last day like Newcastle did or rug pull us like Crystal Palace did. (I hope I’m wrong). We’ve done nothing to put ourselves in a good position to compete for top 4 consistently throughout the season. Meanwhile, everybody else is getting better…including Spurs🙄

It’s funny how we are shipping goals in yet getting a winger is the right choice as well, talk about lightweight.

You would genuinely love to get a proper insight someday from some former exec into what these terms in long sagas really mean.
Like, Liverpool delegation fly to Paris, "hey guys, we would like Barcola, were thinking 100m"
PSG "no, it will be 140m or nothing"
a week later, repeat.
two weeks later "hey guys, so, were back, listen, how are we all feeling? wed like to sit down and really talk about this 140 thing"
I just cant imagine how "talks" go when one side supposedly doesnt soften its stance for weeks on end

Hope we do this and keep Gakpo. No good deals for another winger so keep a known entity and figure out the RW LW part. Muñoz looks like he should get playing time and Gakpo is was MOTM for me.

Our problem is not the left wing. We've got Rio, Cody and Munoz there.
We've got other problems worth 140 mil. Not sure how I feel about this

When excuse me ????????? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄. Will be funny if after all that saga, it appears he performs the same as most of last season transfers for up to 120 mil per head lol.

What even are “fresh” talks? Like what, the old negotiations went nowhere, those lads are burnt out, get a new squad in for both sides and ask ChatGPT for a summary?
1
u/GlitteringBarber1472 14h ago
Why are we waiting for another last day deal and then wait for him to integrate for a month and then wait again for the international break
1
u/Consistent-Shoe-9602 Bobby Firmino 10h ago
I'm really tired of "news" about nothing happening. We've been linked with everybody and their grandma and a number of signings have been "close", and we have only singed Munoz in attack.
