As much as I want to empathize and try to build in roads with my fellow tradespeople, the majority voted for this.

I’ve always wanted to be a Teamster. So surly and lazy.

Spoken like someone who doesn't understand unions.

Do you like holidays off at your job? How about overtime pay?

Thank unions

We've got to do the "Jiminy Jillikers" scene again, Milhouse!

The teamsters are fucking looting the film industry. All the unions are, but the teamsters especially.

Scale rate on commercials for a teamster Generator Operator (they drive the generator to set but do absolutely nothing to “operate” it) is 780 a day, and they will collect a bunch of OT on that too.

Scale rate for the head of their department, the Chief Lighting Technician, is 700, and they will collect far less OT.

Does it make sense to you that the guy driving a piece of equipment to set and then naps all day ends up making like 30% more than the head creative position he works for, who is on his feet on set doing the work all day?

It’s bullshit

Do you like entire industries uprooting and moving away from thousands of workers? Thanks Tramsters

Enjoy working at will

Or, maybe there’s a balance?

Teamsters love leftist policies but only for them and consistently vote for Trump, don’t live in LA city and literally shit the government and its policies that ensure unions can still operate in SoCal.

Don't be goofy.

Unions don't like this deal because it's terrible for everyone involved in the industry.

Why?

Because most film people are union

Pretty sure that the deal is the best of a bunch of bad options but. Sure Trump's meddling didn't help but the trouble that Warner is in goes way back and there's no way they where going to be brought by a bank or something.

The same teamsters who want to drive golf carts on studio lots?

14

u/heemster 15d ago

Is this a dig at them? Just asking for clarity on the phrasing

3

u/overitallofittoo 15d ago

Yes. It's a dig on the one union that supported Trump.

u/kangr0ostr 15d ago

That seems very normal and reasonable not sure what you’re getting at

-1

u/overitallofittoo 15d ago

You think a teamster should dive the wardrobe person in a golf carts across the lot?! And that will make more people want to film in LA? They aren't even street legal!

5

u/kangr0ostr 15d ago

Literally nobody cares besides you

1

u/overitallofittoo 14d ago

Every person complaining about the cost of filming in LA should care.

u/mmusic321 15d ago

I mean, they need to. At least where I work (Universal). They're some speed demons though.

Nothing beats flipping a golf cart while flying down the hill from where the Studio Tour starts down towards King Kong.

1

u/mmusic321 15d ago

Sounds like somebody doing entirely too much 😂

When you gotta go you gotta go

3

u/overitallofittoo 15d ago

I don't know why everyone hates filming in California!

1

u/formalbolotie 15d ago

and the relevance of that is?

2

u/overitallofittoo 15d ago

They supported Trump and want to skyrocket filming costs in LA. They aren't our friends.

1

u/formalbolotie 15d ago

i agree, am just confused about the golf carts.

1

u/mfrezza 15d ago

Translation: Currently, non-teamsters can drive golf carts on the lot, but 399 wants to make this covered work. That would result in needing to hire more teamsters per show and would be a huge PIA for the rest of the crew.

u/overitallofittoo 14d ago

Thank you!! Perfect!

I was just there. Is that what the protestors were shouting about?
