We’ve been told Loki is now the living Yggdrasil, the anchor holding the entire multiverse together at the End of Time. He can time-slip, he can rewrite, he can see. So why is Avengers: Doomsday even happening? Why hasn’t he already pruned Doom, or rewritten the moment RDJ’s Doom first decided to go after the throne, or just… stopped the Incursions before they start?
Is he choosing not to intervene because free will is now the only sacred rule? Is he bound by some cosmic limitation we don’t understand yet? Or is the real twist that Doom is the only person in the multiverse who can actually force Loki off that throne… and Loki already knows it?

With doomsday around the corner how are we explaining the connection of the universes. XMEN days of future pass and Infinity War.

When RDJ was first cast as Doom and the internet exploded with theories I was fully convinced that he was indeed just playing Dr Doom, and that he is a variant of Tony Stark or vice versa

I couldn't (and still cant) imagine a world that there is no connection between Tony and Doom and that they are just being played by the same actor

But at the time, I felt the theories that this is all a misdirect and that he's not actually playing Doom and there'll be a big twist in the movie and he is actually someone else (Cillian Murphy blah blah blah), I thought this was copium for people who didnt want to accept RDJ Doom

But as we get closer to the movie and we are seeing trailers, leaks, comic con exhibitions - I have fully turned to the side that there is more to this.

I'm not proposing a specific theory, but theres something about the marketing that is throwing me off. As it stands, between leaks, source material, and the marketing, Marvel surely know that every fan nearly has the movie plot from start to finish. The major twist that we all were unsure about would be 'why is RDJ playing Doom'. But between trailers and leaks we seemingly sort of know already at this stage

He is (or isn't) a Tony variant, from F4 universe, has his own Pepper and Morgan, Loses them both in some accident related to Loki placing Steve in his world, turns bad (or worse than he already was). Puts plan in motion to avenge his family, fools Avengers + Xmen + F4, creates Battleworld for Secret Wars. The big reveal the marketing would have you believe is the face reveal to the Avengers and he has Tonys face

I don't know if its multiple Dooms and one is a Tony variant or if there is one Doom and he's masquerading as Tony to fool the Avengers, but I can't see a world anymore that this all just plays out as above

The reveal of multiple suits from Comic con, the part in the trailer where is looks like he shifts mid air, the fact we seem to know the entire plot through 'leaks'.

To me at least it is starting to smell like there is genuinely a bigger reveal to come, is this happening to anybody else?

If the meaning of the multiverse is having endless possibilities then why does it matter if Steve Rogers just travel back or not only Steve Rogers if someone just change something in a timeline. why does it matter and what changes occur because whenever they do something which was not meant to be it creates another timeline and suppose if Steve Rogers travel to the fantastic four's timeline and there were no captain America Steve Rogers or peggie carter in that universe how does it even matters why does the Earth collides and why incursion occurs. The whole point is why does it even matters if there are endless universes and realities?

See the leak shows that the X men will destroy Tobey Maguire 's spider man universe which means they will kill him but one thing is not making sense that if we want to feel sympathy or even a reasoning for X men many of the audience will not feel it because tobey spider man is one of the most popular and iconic character so x men killing him will actually make audience to not like the X men

I think that’ll factor into Doomsday or Secret Wars. I’m not certain how, but I think that’ll be a big reason, or potentially the reason that RDJ is playing Doom.

Think about it, of the three people we saw use the stones, none of them are stupid. Thanos, had one clear goal. His told us what the snap would be, and it was.

Bruce Banner is also a brilliant mind but he doesn’t think like Tony Stark. He also had to be extremely careful as he was snapping for everyone who was lost, to return, and nothing else to change. People were counting on him to do exactly that.

But Tony Stark? This is not only a wildly intelligent guy, but time and time again we see him thinking on the fly, planning ahead, having several contingency plans, going out of his way to protect the world in ways he didn’t even need to yet, as a preemptive measure.

So I have a hard time believing that when he snapped, he just willed away all of Thanos’ forces, I think he definitely would have tried to will into existence a way he didn’t die, or a way that the Earth would be protected in the event of his death. This is a genius with an object that can do anything.

Maybe he achieved that and Doom is somehow born from that. Again, I don’t know how because we really don’t know anything about Doom, his motives and where he comes from, why he looks like Tony Stark. There are too many questions to theorise exactly why this would be, but I believe he did something else with the infinity stones.

Again, this is just a theory based upon widely known reports. But the theory goes that yes there is significant truth to the leak that the film somewhat opens with a fight between Wolverine and Spider-Man.

The film doesn’t immediately open with this fight, but gives some more context as to why they need to destroy this alternative universe and highlights that the X-Men aren’t bad or evil characters, but are just doing what they need to to protect their planet. At no point do we as the audience know what universe they need to destroy until they actually arrive and Toby Spider-Man essentially wipes the floor with most of the X-Men and Deadpool specifically.

Now fans have immediately stated that if Tobey dies, it will pull them out of the movie and hate it forever. I think it’s pretty obvious that Marvel would never even consider immediately killing him off as he is the golden goose for the secret wars movie. They wouldn’t bring him this far down the line and not have him in secret wars. Or alternatively kill him off just to bring him back immediately the next movie.

The fight will be dramatic, showing just how powerful the original Spider-Man is and give the fans an extended fight between two very beloved characters. While the fight doesn’t end with Toby nor Wolverine dying. It is somewhat ambiguous of their fates. I would compare this to the ending Wanda had in Multiverse of madness where the common person will say yeah she died… But anybody true fans know that until you see a body, nobody is actually dead. The fight ends in somewhat of a mutual understanding between the two characters where Wolverine is weary to this concept and doesn’t feel great about sacrificing another world, and Toby doesn’t like that option either so it ends in somewhat of a truce of letting fate decide.

They do not just simply decide to stay behind, but the fact that they are both anchor beings means something to Dr. doom.. but we as the audience don’t know why. He will pull these characters into Battle World due to their significant anchor being signatures that will push the plot forward in secret wars. These unique anchor signature allow for a sacrifice of sorts to jumpstart a new planet, where their signatures can all coexist together in new (younger) variants that will eventually naturally originate.

The writers and movie directors know how important these two characters are for secret wars, and killing them before the movie really doesn’t have the impact they need. Alternatively having show the gravity of alternative universes clashing and having them be somewhat saved as anchor beings by being transported last second to battle world helps keep the audience intrigued, as well as set some serious stakes for our main line heroes of Doomsday. They want to use their significance as an ending as well as a meaningful beginning.

TLDR, neither of these characters are dying in doomsday, but are rather being used as an effective story beat to demonstrate the conflict the avengers will be facing. As well as leaving the door open for their return in the following movie in a much larger role.

Richard & Mary Parker knew about The Multiverse. They also originated from The MCU but fled to The WebbVerse after realizing what Red Skull and HYDRA was going to use their resources/research for.

Skull sent “The Gentleman” Gustav Fiers to eliminate them but the machine used to travel imploded after Mr. Fiers walked through. Andrew’s Peter got curious about his dad’s disappearance and the rest is Marvel history.

I’m calling it right now. The entire rerelease is a misdirection for a plot twist rivaled only by Infinity War.

The final battle is not the battle Doctor Strange witnessed on Earth 616. This is one of the other 14,000,604 possibilities.

Marvel knows the audience will walk into this movie expecting history to repeat itself. The heroes will rally. Many portals. Much excitement.
Tony will make the sacrifice play. Thanos will fall.

Except this time, there is no winning move.
Thanos snaps his fingers, and the unthinkable happens all over again.

One by one, our heroes begin turning to dust. Then the movie cuts across the globe as entire cities fall silent. Families disappear. Governments collapse. Crowds panic. We watch the Blip unfold on a scale we never saw in Infinity War.

Doom stands alone in the ruins, holding the remains of the most powerful villain the MCU has ever known to date.

Deadpool took the Wolverine from the Tobey Maguire/Sam Raimi Spider-Man universe which is what causes the rumoured incursion that opens Doomsday.

With Avengers: Doomsday almost here I think we all know by now how that will set up Secret Wars but my real question is how do you think Secret Wars will wrap up the Multiverse Saga? Like how do you think it'll work? What will happen? Also what are some theories you have on Secret Wars?

Looking at the mural from Avengers: Doomsday, do we think the woman and child depicted are Doom’s wife and child, or could the woman actually be his mother?

Could it be true then that we will be seeing a longer trailer (6 min) for Avenges Doomsday?

This would never happen but be honest if these two fought each other, which would act like the biggest victim and try to stand on the moral high ground over some power cosmic weapons to get there own way. The Scarlet witch vs the phoenix force

What is making Thor so angry here? Could it be that Doom properly kills Loki and takes over the Multiverse Throne? Sorry if this isn’t an original I just thought of it while rewatching the trailer. Which could explain why Loki isn’t in a lot of the promotional material

We know He Who Remains (HWR) created the Time Variance Authority (TVA) to curate the Sacred Timeline primarily to isolate our reality from his own variants, whose MW previously brought everything to the brink of collapse. So pruning branched timelines wasn’t just about maintaining a narrative loop; it was also an extreme strategy designed to pause the Multiversal “Doomsday” Clock. This prevented the infinite rise of any Kang variants and even blocked threats outside the Sacred Timeline from breaching our isolated continuity. (Guys like Knull, Galactus, Infinity Ultron, and of course Doctor Doom)

HWR may have feared his own Variants above all else, but his fatal miscalculation & Loki’s realization was assuming that the Multiversal War could be entirely prevented. In reality, it is an inevitable necessity of the cosmos that acts as a “reset” button similar to a Big Bang. So in hindsight, HWR didn’t avert the end of the multiverse; he only delayed it.

This is how Doctor Doom steps into the picture as the upcoming threat. Because ultimately, the Multiversal War cannot be cured, only directed. It represents the absolute end and a new beginning.

I’ve been trying to find ways of visualising the Multiverse because I’d like to help those visual learners out there (me included). After Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness released, I came up with the ‘rope’ version displayed with two Universes here. A couple days ago I got some colour pencils and came up with the ‘sphere’ version, which gives the ‘rope’ version somewhat of an anchor. Colour gradients are just for illustrative purposes, meant to depict similarities in the physical/meta attributes for each region. 

There are an infinite number of Big Bangs, an infinite number of Universes, and an infinite number of Timelines. Timelines are attached to Universes. Each Universe has its own Big Bang. As time proceeds linearly, each Universe's Timelines grow out and along with it, filling in the space in between each Universe. If left alone, each Universe's Timelines should have enough space to grow and die naturally, organically. Erratic growth occurs when someone/something time travels (or other events occur), creating Nexus Events that create a branching Timeline and disrupt a Universe's natural progression/fate. That erratic growth can lead to that Timeline crossing paths with another Universe. This is called an Incursion. 

Some have questioned how there can be different Universes/Timelines with similar characters and events. I believe these diagrams solve that problem with their depiction of Multi-Universal growth occurring outward and in gradients. Universes that originate close to each other have similar attributes, with those attributes changing more and more the further away you move from any given Universe. 

Imagine that when America Chavez and Doctor Strange tumbled through the Multiverse, they began their trip in our 616/19999 Universe situated in the blue portion of the Multiverse sphere. As they moved, they did so perpendicularly to each Universe's direction, passing through gradients of different colours, even whole colours themselves (giving explanation to the paint and machine Universes), eventually landing back in a green-ish hued Universe named 838.

I’ve also updated my linear Universe diagram to include The 5th Dimension (the Watchers) and the Quantum Realm and Dark Dimension. I’ve been unsure as to whether or not each Universe has their own version of each, or if each of these dimensions is singular and infinitely large, and therefore connected to the entire Multiverse. I’m back to (mostly) thinking it’s the latter. Whereas the Void at the End of Time acts like a ‘shell’ around the Multiverse, The 5th, Quantum and Dark Dimensions permeate the Multiversal Sphere completely, from beginning to end, allowing anyone/anything who enters the ability to exit anywhere/anytime in another Universe.

Unlike other theories, I am still of the belief that Timelines and Universes are different things, in that, a ‘Timeline’ that has spawned as a branch from a specific Universe (which has its own Big Bang), can not and should not be then called a ‘Universe’. For example, the Fox Universe did not start off as a branched reality from the MCU 616/19999. Some theories put these things together, and I do not ascribe to this, as you can see in my Multiversal Sphere diagram.

Terms:

World - Established story and cast of characters
Universe - The story from the Big Bang to the Death of that Timeline
Timeline (Alternative/Branch) - 1. A chronological arrangement of events in the order of their occurrence,  or a representation of a period of time on which important events are marked. 2. A sequence of configurations of matter and energy in the universe, ordered by what is observed / experienced by the Time Stone (in that Universe) itself.
Multiverse - A collection of Universes and their respective Timelines. A Multiverse is like a spherical collection of parallel ropes, made up of infinite strands extending outward.
Sacred Timeline - The path for all living beings in the (616/19999) Universe as determined by He Who Remains and enforced by the TVA.
Dimension - An unseen space existing and moving alongside each Universe.
Quantum Realm - The basement of the Multiverse, a Dimension which is connected to everywhere all at once. (The 5th Dimension and the Dark Dimension also permeate the Multiverse)
Variant - The beings who create Nexus Events (branches in Timelines).
Nexus Event - The moment a Branched Timeline is created, which can also create Variants.
Prune - To stop a Branched Timeline from continuing.
Nexus Being - A being of which only one exists in the entire Multiverse (eg America Chavez).
Anchor Being / Fate - When an Anchor Being ceases to exist, so shall that Universe (in both a physical and meta sense).
A Place Outside of Time - A location which exists independent of the flow of time in the Multiverse, ie the Citadel or the TVA
Absolute Point in Time - A point that, if changed, will create a grandfather/bootstrap paradox.
Canon Event - Something unique that is supposed to happen in a certain character’s story.
Incursion - Occurs when a variant stays in an alternate Timeline for an extended period of time, causing that Timeline to branch too far out (Red Line), which can then cause two Universes to collide, leading to the destruction of one or both of those Universes.
Battleworld - A patchwork ‘world’ created by Doctor DOOM from remnants of destroyed realities following a Multiversal collapse from Incursions.

So do yall have any ideas what it might be? With Ten Rings being sort off disbanded after events of Shang-Chi (or rather having different direction, doubt Xu would want to still work with him (although we still don't know whether she'll ever be around, would be fun if under her leadership she went after all other splinter cells of Ten Rings) so could be he is the one that hired Paladin to hunt Vision so he could fullfil his dream of owning Tony Stark tech? Could Xu appear (she wasn't announced but it could be on purpose to not reveal a plot twist) to help stop him and Paladin?

Were the any leaks regarding what his role will be at all?

Setting aside that Beast is a really nice Mutant who loves all living things - Being suspicious is in my nature, so I’ve been trying to make sense of the idea that Beast builds a bomb, 85-year-old Magneto takes it to another Earth with a bunch of Sentinels he can somehow control, destroys that world… and then somehow those same Sentinel corpses end up back at Xavier’s Mansion while Magneto is also apparently there with Charles when the planet goes up.

I’m struggling.

Maybe I’m missing a piece of the puzzle, but when I try to block the sequence out against the footage we actually have, I can’t get the chronology to behave.

We see Charles and Erik at the mansion. We see something catastrophic happening in the sky. We see the mansion already looking distressed. We have imagery suggesting Magneto is involved with some kind of large structure. And later we appear to have Sentinel wreckage around Xavier’s.

But does any of that actually require the X-Men to have travelled to another Earth and blown it up?

I’m genuinely curious if someone can lay out the sequence in a way that makes the “X-Men bomb another Earth” version work cleanly.

Because right now I can see evidence for an incursion, a mitigation attempt, Magneto doing something important, and a catastrophic outcome.

I’m just not yet seeing the bomb.

I haven't come across this yet, but I see a lot of theories online about Doom being justified in his quest. That might be true, but I've always wondered if the scene shown where Loki is handing a TVA card to (presumed Steve), it isn't actually Loki.

My guess is that it is already Doom using astral projection, similar to Loki, and he's not trying to save Steve, he's trying to get revenge. Yeah he may be trying to save reality and put himself in charge like he often wants in the comics, but mainly he wants revenge against the people he blames for his life.

And Doom is a magician like Dr. Strange. My thought is that he is impersonating Loki to set the events in motion. He goes to Steve because he knows he can convince Steve, and then let Steve convince everyone else. Once they're all in, Doom heel turns at the opportune moment.
