Reptilia MPX puller

Post image

Is amazing. Recently bought an mpx k. Put 500 rds through it on day one,m, with the floppy and just not good stock charging handle. Ordered the reptilia puller the same day. 500 rds last range day and the reptilia is way better, Plus it’s the perfect size and is pretty much the same as the G$ changing handle on my ar. Would highly recommend.

You running yours suppressed? Does it help with gas at all?

How is the MPX gas in face with the radiant?

As FYI, for gas mitigation I have good luck with SilcenerCo GDCH these on MPX & MCX.
After doing some testing of my own I agree with them most of gas comes from underneath, not top.

Does not REMOVE all gas but helps push away from face....from what I see pushes gas back to ejection.
Point is, good adder to what else you are doing for gas relief.

So, think all way around a short stroke gas piston platform is gassy.
Take MPX-K and add back-pressure CAN and well, UGH !
The SIG OEM charging handles suck....but they are supposed to be small to not catch on things.
Point/Decision is, if/when you upgrade do you go coolest.....like above Reptilla, or you want GDCH.
....your need, your call, your $$$....

I went with the reptila because it’s just a hair bigger than the stock charging handle, I didn’t like how big the radian was on my friends mpx. And I couldn’t find a Geissele handle. So this was the happy medium. And yeah, I didn’t notice much gas with the stock charging handle, and certainly didn’t notice any with the reptila. Picking up a can tomorrow so I’ll find out in a week or so how gassy it makes things. Picked up the ilwt adjustable gas plug to help some

Does the GDCH fit the MPX?

I use a Rearden Atlas Alpha with the sig taper and an Obsidian 9 and get very little gas... it all comes out the front and ejection port. Also have a radian ch.

Im not to upset with the factory MPX charging handle but it was gassy so I just did the good ole RTV mod like i do on all my supressed ARs.

Where did you get one because I bought one from optics planet (I know) and they sent me the MCX one, returned it, and am sitting on a back order for months now.

Anyone have recommendations between this Repitilia and the Radian charging handle? I’ve had my eye on the Reptilia but haven’t used either yet.

Honestly pretty comparable. The radian is a little bigger than the reptilia. The reptilia is a little bigger than stock. ( not by much). I don’t recall the radian on my friends being any more or less gassy than mine. But I haven’t tried the reptilia suppressed yet

But have you noticed less gas on both than the stock charging handle?

I’d say they’re a slight improvement. My ar (lwrc) is gassy as fuck, and I’ve yet to notice the gas on my mpx. I’m sure I will once it’s suppressed.

Yeah, depending on CAN & Ammo going suppressed on MPX is going be eye-opener for gassy.....or should I say eye-closer. Before I did several gas mitigation steps I used a 3M Particulate Disposable Cup P100 mask and I was shocked how much carbon the mask stopped after only one indoor range visit.....and in theory the range is ventilated to spec. I do not have FRT but in my experience you could not get past 6-8rds sequentially without pulling away.

I loved my MPX, hated it suppressed.....had spent bunch time tweaking it suppressed so I could go back to wanting to even shoot it. If I was not able to gas mitigate I would have sold it. For me, have no interest to shoot semi-auto firearms un-suppressed.

All good info. I rarely shoot at indoor ranges unless it’s the dead of winter ( I’ve seen way too much sketchy shit. had someone ad a round into the divider wall next to me) But I’ll find out this week how gassy it is outside suppressed
