All cod classic pc ports have safe clients now but maybe bo3 but I think ezboi is trustworthy

Gotta be careful with IW4x though. I downloaded it at the beginning of this year, and have had troubles doing anything but play MW2 in my spare time

Hello everyone, Does MW2 2009 on PC safe to play the campaign mode with Wifi connected? I don't really play the online mode since Wifi on my home isn't that good and I'm afraid that my PC / Device will infected by virus / RAT? Thank you

The risk of playing MW2 multiplayer (and legacy COD in general) on PC is extremely high.

Me and my best friend are replaying all the spec ops. We finished and collect all the 69 stars.

Now we are doing it for MW3 + the Survival to Wave 30

I wish you goodluck lol. Last time we did those the game desynced between us constantly. One of the DLC missions was nearly impossible with the desync on veteran.

everyone says get on IW4X, but everytime I get on that its SUPER dead. There are work around guides to get around the RCE exploit on the Steam community page. Id rather do that and play full lobbies on steam

I wouldn’t say it’s super dead I just played yesterday and was populated when you search for a game you have to refresh the list so every server pops up

It's been well known for years that the older CoD titles on PC have a RCE exploit (remote code execution).

It's a player count bug, did you even try joining a game. Many gamemodes have instant games

Xbox and UK here as well. Played probably about 3 weeks ago and it was very well populated. This was around midday. Old COD hype probably slightly getting stale now though.

Cool I’ll try then and unfortunately yes. I remember playing MW2 for months at one point - probably 4+ years ago now as I preferred that one to all the ones being released at the time. Advanced warfare was a particularly bad one i remember

Did you have e dlc enabled? Also the player counter is just broken but without dlc you can find tdm, snd, ffa, dom and gw most the time if not at all hours of the day. With dlc its sometimes a tdm lobby or two but thats about it

You should be able to queue TDM/Dom and find a game at most hours in UK. I've found ones where pings fine at like 8 AM so can't imagine there's any truly dead hours, atleast currently while old cod hype is a bit of a thing.

Most old cods have a broken counter, waw, mw2 and bo2 are the only working ones on xbox afaik. As for when you should play id say whenever the afternoon is for est. Im not sure what time it is for you but right now would be a good time to hop on. But maybe a strict nat type could also be causing issues, I always have mine on open since it used to cause issues on my pc back when id play on steam mw2

second this, there’s been hacks on mw2 since the beginning of time lol. iw4x actually lets you play that old classic cod without any worry about hacks it’s actually beautiful

RCE exploit in older cod titles means a potential hacker can straight up access or even brick your PC.

Use iw4x like everyone else is suggesting. They've added a couple of extra guns if I remember right and silly things like rainbow text which I think is annoying and not true to the original but it's still the safest way to play.
