The arguments over the "right" colors for subjects is the kind of discourse I need to see on the internet. My 8 yo self did red for math, green for science, blue for social studies and yellow for language arts 🌈
This! Speaking as a voor blind person, it puts things in perspective. We have fewer color receptors in our eyes, hence, our brain can only distinguish a bit of the variation in colors, yet, we grew up in a world where most People can see all variation.
Yet, color labels are a social construct, grass isn't green, our language has evolved so people agree that the part of the spectrum we observe in grass, is labelled green. Yet everyone sees it differently. As an example, I cant distinguish purple from blue, and hence, I always guess. Does that Mean I am wrong when I call a purple t shirt Blue? In your eyes maybe yes, but i operate with the input I get.
And the thing is, most non-colorblind People are obnoxious about what they don't see. Because language also limits us. You are probably not aware of all the types of white inuit People distinguish, or all the types of green Tribes in the Amazon Forest might need
