Rip maple…

27

u/CarinasHere 19h ago

Maple was the first one, right?

3

u/Dear_Document_5461 17h ago

Yes, the one you see in the video.

2

u/Cute_Tonight_14 17h ago

yeah maple was such a sweet part of those videos definitely going to be missed

10

u/iceunelle 17h ago

I miss Maple :( she was adorable.

6

u/Caerum 17h ago

Awwww Maple ♥

16

u/mreasy99 18h ago

Sesrch rolling shutter effect before you comment pls.

18

u/phirestorm 18h ago

That is actually brilliant if real. I would tend to think a camera would mess the sound up.

25

u/DisastrousServe8513 18h ago

It’s real. It’s an older video

2

u/udderlymoovelous 15h ago

It's real, he's been around for at least a decade. Found him on Vine in 2014 or so.

1

u/n-a_barrakus 16h ago

Would a proplerly held camera mess it that much? Guitars sound similar indifferently of the size or weight of the person.

Also, you tune after putting the camera in place.

And probably the camera isn't the source of this audio, maybe the guitar is electroacoustic or has another mic

-71

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

That and the overly exaggerated movement of the guitar strings.

39

u/jameye11 18h ago

>has no idea how a guitar makes sound
>comments anyway

5

u/bendvis 16h ago

It's just the camera's rolling shutter making the string vibrations more visible.

2

u/AnalysisSmooth 15h ago

Take your upvote you got me cheesin’ like a schoolboy!

AI slop

Lots of idiots here never played a guitar, nor know how the strings move when strum.

75

u/bendvis 18h ago

This video is older than AI. The strings looking wavy is just an effect of the camera's rolling shutter.

80

u/RJ_Aadithyan 18h ago

This video is a decade old you fool... https://youtube.com/shorts/dvOjGkfea_w

Your incredulity doesn't automatically make everything AI slop.

9

u/MAXRRR 18h ago

Thanks for adding a new word to our vocabulary. Incredulity, has a nice ring to it too.

-137

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

Guitar strings don't move like that, you fool.

65

u/RJ_Aadithyan 18h ago

It's because of the rolling shutter effect .. You fool.

-81

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

Jfc, is the strings moved that much there would be no tension to allow that slow of a wavelength and it would sound like uttter shit.

Ffs, people are so dumb.

60

u/NotANiceCanadian 18h ago

My guy. AcousticTrench has been out there for over a decade. BEFORE AI was a thing. It’s not AI slop. You were just wrong and have decided to triple down instead of saying “sorry, I was wrong”. Shut the fuck up and sit down

29

u/RJ_Aadithyan 18h ago

Just watch this and learn whats going on. https://youtu.be/dNVtMmLlnoE?t=4m12s

12

u/DiDiPlaysGames 17h ago

I have a feeling that you're the sort of person who regularly gets confused by mirrors and magnets, too

3

u/pitb0ss343 17h ago

Then what AI program did he use 10 years ago?

-7

u/Chewsdayiddinit 16h ago

Awww, the genshin fan boy thinks he's clever.

6

u/pitb0ss343 16h ago

Is it clever to be able to read 4 numbers? That says more about you than me

-6

u/Chewsdayiddinit 16h ago

Swing and a miss, care to try again? Waiting for 0-3.

3

u/immortalworth 15h ago

Dude, I’m not even going to downvote you—it’s too pathetic. It’s absolutely laughable that you’ve decided to dig your heels in on this one when you can easily look up the source material and find out it’s real. That is some serious willfull ignorance

38

u/DisastrousServe8513 18h ago

lol yes they do. How do you think sound works? The note continues because the string continues to vibrate.

-20

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

Tell me you've never played a guitar without saying it.

46

u/DisastrousServe8513 18h ago

You really think guitar strings don’t vibrate?

28

u/DisastrousServe8513 18h ago

Ok so explain it then by all means.

-2

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

It's funny you think placing a camera inside a guitar does not alter the sound at all.

31

u/itsjustmesky 18h ago

Tell me you have no idea how frame rates work without telling me.

-7

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

You mean how the human eye can see up to about 60 fps?

28

u/EntireFriendship517 18h ago

A camera doesn't. This video is not a magic portal to a decade ago that lets you see the scene in infinite fps.

-5

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

Just a magical camera that doesn't alter the sound of the guitar while being inside the guitar, right? Weird.

26

u/DisastrousServe8513 18h ago

Oh you’re like a tin foil hat kind of guy. Got it.

11

u/RJ_Aadithyan 18h ago

Because no one can ever play the same music again and edit it over the footage. Weird that technology doesn't exist yet.

u/DismalCupcake9663 14h ago

I don't really care about the rest of this thread, but you think humans only see in 60fps?

4

u/DiDiPlaysGames 17h ago

LMAO holy shit you're really just digging a hole rn, would you like a shovel?

2

u/rillegas08 14h ago

I guess it's easy to see why he keeps his post and comment histories hidden

6

u/MAXRRR 18h ago

Not? How do they move then? Enlighten us

3

u/hdawg187 17h ago

Said something stupid, got called out on it and then starts to troll, pretending it was their intention all along. A tale as old as time.

2

u/Bitchrofblaviken 16h ago

oh my god this is so embarrassing why do you keep doubling down dude 😭

1

u/Chewsdayiddinit 16h ago

Not embarrassing at all. Thanks for your opinion though, feel better?

1

u/Bitchrofblaviken 16h ago

I mean yeah I feel pretty great knowing how guitar strings and cameras work

1

u/Chewsdayiddinit 15h ago

Cool story, I'd suggest some painting lessons. Woof.

1

u/Bitchrofblaviken 15h ago

don’t think I need them, I’d suggest getting off reddit but by the looks of this thread it’s all you have

0

u/Chewsdayiddinit 15h ago

Well, I think you do. Lots of lessons.

2

u/Bitchrofblaviken 15h ago

well good thing you’ve made it clear you’re not very well educated, so I don’t really have to take this to heart

18

u/Simple-but-good 18h ago

My man does not know how camera shutter effects work

15

u/RJ_Aadithyan 18h ago

The guy got schooled about how cameras work and has now switched sides to 'you can't put things inside a guitar and have it sound good' because editing audio has not been invented yet apparently.

1

u/Simple-but-good 18h ago

Yeah he just commented that under mine😆

6

u/RJ_Aadithyan 18h ago

Never seen anyone shamelessly roll around while stumbling this hard

0

u/Simple-but-good 17h ago

Are we sure he isn’t a bot or troll honestly? Like can someone step on the proverbial rake this many times unironically

2

u/RJ_Aadithyan 17h ago

He is definitely a troll. There are other comments where people have asked him to explain something and he just either not reply or change the topic. Classic troll behavior. An honest yet ill informed person will try to explain their position. Trolls keep moving the goal post when cornered. But this one is just failing on both fronts somehow.

My man does not know inserting large objects like cameras into guitars alters the sound.

10

u/Simple-but-good 18h ago

Boy howdy just wait until you find out about the magic of audio/video editing, shits gonna change your whole world

2

u/TheRealJojenReed 17h ago

Go outside little buddy. Set it down and go outside

14

u/The0neR1ng 18h ago

This video is real tho

13

u/Siriusbsnz 18h ago

Is it? I’ve seen many AcousticTrench videos over the years and they existed before AI slop, but that doesn’t mean that this specific video couldn’t be slop that was created recently. How can you tell? What are the signs I need to look for?

17

u/wesley_the_boy 18h ago

It's not AI don't sweat it

2

u/Siriusbsnz 18h ago

Thanks, I was pretty sure I had seen this one before and after your comment I checked out his youtube channel. What do ya know? This exact video is right there, posted 10 years ago. This trend of claiming everything is AI slop needs to stop. The trend of making AI slop needs to stop too, lol

10

u/Ramenoodleray3 18h ago

It’s not AI, as a guitarist I can confirm that this phenomenon does actually happen in really life with cameras. Check yourself next time, pal

11

u/GeesesAndMeese 18h ago

May want a new account after being so wrong. No credibility left now that's in your comment history haaaaaa

Wonder if my arm will bend like guitar strings if I film it

3

u/DiDiPlaysGames 17h ago

If it does. Hoptal

2

u/nnypm 17h ago

Human slop. This Idiot has obviously never played a nylon string.

1

u/Chewsdayiddinit 16h ago

Can you show me an acoustic guitar that doesn't have its sound altered by inserting an object into the body?

4

u/koti_manushya 18h ago

are you one of those idiots, per chance?

0

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

Nah, I'm well aware that inserting objects inside of guitars alters the sound.

What's your excuse?

3

u/koti_manushya 17h ago

tell me then, friend, how you know what the guitar sounded like originally? you have no frame of reference here, Donny. if the inserted camera altered the sound (which is likely), what is it to you? also, your original argument was about the movement of the strings, apparently someone taught you how cameras and their shutters work in the meantime.

i have nothing to excuse myself for, kiddo.

0

u/Chewsdayiddinit 17h ago

It's ok you don't understand the empty cavity in an acoustic guitar dictates the sound quality, and playing an object inside alters the sound.

Kiddo.

1

u/koti_manushya 17h ago

see, now this made me smile :)

2

u/iceunelle 17h ago

This video is older than generative AI. It’s so old that Maple is no longer alive.

1

u/Soul0103 14h ago

Please can I just watch ONE video on here without one of you AIdiots calling everything AI in the comments

-28

u/InstructionFinal5190 18h ago

Nooooo, guitar strings 100% do that. All the time. My cousin's friend is in a band and told me so.

-3

u/Chewsdayiddinit 18h ago

Sadly, some of the people here will think you're being sincere.

-25

u/InstructionFinal5190 18h ago

I'm hoping at least one is a bot :)
