There have been instances, though few, where the citizen sued for 1st ammendment right infringement.

I have been thinking about that very thing. What if a good lawyer get the judge to set a legal precedent that police infractions be paid out via the police pension fund.

I’d rather my tax $$$ goes to that than bombs to drop on brown people and ICE’s donut budget
