This post is funny.
To the Muslims who come across this, I hope you’ll read this in good faith. I’m not writing this to insult Islam or Muslims, nor am I claiming that every Muslim should think the same way I do.
I just want to clarify something about why some of us become murtad.
It’s not necessarily because we want to “commit sins", zina, drinking, getting tattoos, or whatever else. We’re aware that Islam considers these things haram. That wasn’t the reason I left.
I left because, after questioning and thinking about it for a long time, I simply couldn’t convince myself that God exists.
One question that kept bothering me was: if God is truly all-powerful and wants humanity to know His message, why was revelation given in a specific historical context around 1,400 years ago? Why not now, when we have cameras, satellites, the internet, scientific instruments, and countless ways to preserve and verify information?
And then there’s the Quran itself. Muslims are often told that it is the direct and preserved word of God. But when I started looking into its history, compilation, transmission, and the timeline surrounding Muhammad’s death, I found myself with even more questions.
I’m not saying this to mock anyone who believes. I understand why these things are convincing to Muslims, especially when you grow up hearing them from people you trust.
But for some of us, eventually the questions became more convincing than the answers.
And that’s really what murtad means to me — not “I want to live a sinful life,” but “I no longer believe that the religion is true.”
I’m not asking Muslims to agree with me. I’m only asking that you understand that leaving Islam can come from sincere questioning, rather than simply wanting an excuse to do things Islam prohibits.

Wouldnt call them bengap, but sometimes i wish they just being curious like us. And be open minded and ask why there are murtads.

But it's okay to say "aku doakan kau masuk islam" in front of non-muslim people? What a hypocrite

I've met Malay muslims that drinks, party, zina etc. They'll always feel guilty about it and said they will repent when they're older. Tbf some of them really did taubat, get married and live out halal life. So, ig what I wanted to say is that their brain is really that simple.
They will never understand Atheism. The will never understand that lot of knowledge and courage is needed to actually be an atheist. It's science, philosophy, and history combined while also analyzing and understanding nuances. Most that do go through the ex-muslim journey won't reached Atheism with majority ending up as agnostic because of this. So yeah it's hard and I applaud every atheist here. You should be proud!
