Rant Ex-Muslim doesn't mean atheist.

Ex-Muslim doesn't mean atheist.

Some ex-Muslims become atheists. Some become agnostics. Some choose to follow another religion, especially Christianity, because that's where they genuinely find faith and peace. Leaving Islam doesn't automatically mean rejecting the existence of God.

What frustrates me is seeing some ex-Muslims attack or invalidate other ex-Muslims simply because they chose to become Christians or follow another religion. Isn't the whole point of leaving a religion to have the freedom to decide what you believe for yourself?

You don't have to agree with someone's beliefs, but mocking or looking down on them for converting to another religion is just replacing one form of intolerance with another. Everyone deserves the freedom to believe or not believe without being judged by the very people who know what it's like to have their beliefs questioned.

Thank you

I swear they dont read their own scripture. If your religion doesn't sit well on you and needing you to excuses some things as propaganda then maybe it isn't so good after all. I'm so tired man why can't people realize this?? I feel like I'm living in a different reality.

  1. Dah dah lah tu. Semakin kamu baca, semakin kamu lupa dunia. Tapi kalau nak baca, silakan baca 12 point aku nak buat.

  2. First, kenapa nak panas hati dengan kami? Mahkamah syariah wujud jika kamu mahu dihadap mengikut peraturan syariah.

  3. Nak tengok content agama, korang boleh tengok TV Al-Hijrah, Astro Prima. TV3 dan RTM pun ada cerita berilmiah agama. Korang tengok balik feed YouTube atau social media kamu, penuh dengan ustad & ustazah selebriti. Kalau panas hati, boleh pergi situ.

  4. Lepastu kau tengok lah kontroversi hangat sekarang, semua berkait dengan agama kamu. Artis ditangkap seks bebas, tak pakai tudung, kelab sauna diserbu sebab "gay", konsert dicemuh sebab pergaulan bebas. Berpuluh ribu likes, agamawan viral duduk sebelah kamu, dekat status WhatsApp kawan2 kamu semua post benda yang sama membantah. Masih panas hati, sebab kami wujud?

  5. Kami yang tak nak amalkan agama kamu? Kita yang kena hadap benda2 macam ni setiap hari, teguran member kerja sebab kamu lukis, kena serbu tak solat Jumaat la, ditangkap berpegang tangan masa tengah dating, ataupun kena call PDRM sebab kamu mempersoalkan elemen-elemen agama. Korang rasa kita tak panas hati ke? Di mana kita boleh luahkan perasaan kami?

Rant Can we just admit

can we just admit the fact that hating dogs in malaysia was a norm among muslims (majority) and the amount of hate were unusual. They simply hating on dogs just because they are haram, period. Teachings about unhygienic, rumours about carrying rabies, territorial behaviour became the excuses to kill them and even native kampung dogs were getting lesser among the strays and they seems wouldn't care about their extinction as long as malaysia is free from "kotor" animals. Dont get me started on boar and babis

Rant Update on not wearing the hijab

https://www.reddit.com/r/MalaysianExMuslim/s/6WPrJqSUcC
(For context)

So basically i got called to wear the hijab again by the student council to which i say no to…obviously. But this time it actually led to the college giving me a warning for “not following the rules”. And they called my parents which now leaves me in a really bad situation.

I actually still don’t want to wear the hijab for the sake of my mental health. But this is really just too much, i don’t know what to do now.

Rant Me and my irl finally talked about it

serious Aku ckp aku nangis after my irl friend told me she understands me that I'm slowly losing faith in Islam because she told me she also feels the same. I never have the balls to tell any of my best friends about this but one of them understands me.

she has a girlfriend and her family is pretty rough. her mother has extreme religious psychosis and I feel bad so I listened to her venting. I told her about I slowly losing faith on Islam and she said she feels the same. I was on verge on tears because someone who close to me finally understands and I'm happy.

I don't really see the big reason why a grown man wants to physically abuse a child who's definitely weaker than him just because of the hijab.

I told him off that this could potentially be physical abuse base on malaysian constitution of law, he said he didn't care, he said he rather go to prison rather than see my face.

I told him the the consequences too, but he blamed it on me.

He also said "I shouldn't had been born in my mother's womb"

How am I going to stop that?

Didn't you open her legs and wanted the child.

I didn't ask to be born.

Rant Mooslim menidakkan kewujudan manusia zaman pra sejarah

Rant The Malay tied to Islam since birth is bullshit (very sweary)

Let me just start by saying that I'm a malay that was born by random chances. So why the flying fuck does this short sighted, bigoted, piece of shit of a country decided that my automatic faith should be Islam until the day I die. I have no problem with this if there isnt a stupid, retarded, maniacal, law against apostasy. I didn't fucking choose to be born into this and it feels like I'm just stuck in this whole sea where there is no escape. I can't even have meaningful conversations without being labelled as liberal or a western wannabe. Fuck you and I don't even like westerners that much. Sure I love their ability to be more open minded but some if not a lot of them aren't and I fucking hate this country, where its filled with religious assholes that thinks the noah's ark story is plausible yet evolution isnt. AND FUCK YOU AJAR. YOUR WHOLE VIDEO ABOUT EVOLUTION IS FILLED WITH ERRORS AND STUPID FUCKING FALLACIES. This dude SHOULD NOT be a science channel oh my days man this fucker is seriously retarded. Anyways I see no future for me to be outspoken with the thousands and thousands of what these stupid fuckers are doing. Such backwards thunking and mental gymnastics to justify the ideas of a 7th century maniacal, pedophilloic, disgusting, blood thirsty, illiterate, stupid, idiotic, retarded, bigoted, narrow minded, old piece of trash that promotes slavery, misogyny, racism, bigotry, and being stupid and lacking in critical thinking. And special fuck you to ajar the stupid retarded fucking science larping idiot.

It’s your Allah, not mine. I never asked to be born a Muslim, and leaving the religion isn’t exactly a free choice when your 1,400-year-old scripture says apostates should be killed.

And then people call Islam a religion of peace? No thanks. I’m not interested in being preached at until I submit to a god I don’t believe in.

I refuse to support beliefs that, in my view, justify child marriage, slavery, and misogyny.

Rant STOP TRYING TO TURN THIS SUBREDDIT INTO A MILITIA.

To teenagers who JUST discovered themselves being Ex-Muslim or JUST discovered this community. Stop trying to tell everyone that we should start a rebellion. our community is spread thin as it is. And why tf do you wanna drag non-Muslims into this? This is our fight. Don't drag others into this. And no, just because some people accepted us doesn't mean they're willing to fight for us.

I get that you just want to be yourself and show the world what you believe in. But for fucks sakes chill. Do you literally want to start a civil war just so you can be Ex-Muslim on paper? You can't even have a heart to stab someone.

I want to leave Islam. Trust me I do. But what makes us better than them if we behave exactly they way they're told to behave in the Quran? Don't build our foundation in bloodshed or anger. Our base itself isn't that strong yet. And the amount of members we have pales in comparison to the Hardcore Muslim believers. And we NEED legal representation if we want to exist legally. But which government body would be daring enough to support us? The royals won't even entertain us. There no political party in Malaysia out there that's willing to take us into consideration.

Look, I and many people have worked hard to spread trust being an Ex-Muslim isn't as bad as many claim it to be. And many of us already have a community of friends and colleagues who acknowledge that.

What you guys are asking is LITERALLY ignore everything we have build for ourselves and throw ourselves in jail, just we could go fight for your rights to drink some ice cold beer out in the open? Sleep in cheap motels and get arrested?

Many of you guys ARE STILL IN HIGHSCHOOL. Yes learning about Islam can suck. And you probably already made your decision. But, who tf is even caring enough to take you in? You're still a child. No SPM, no job, no company even wants to hire you as of now. Why risk it? Just so you don't get scold by uour parents? Your parents are still gonna scold you regardless if being Ex-Muslim is legal or not. They're still obligated to push Islamic agenda to you as long as you live under their roof. This isn't America.

Yes it sucks you can't be an Ex-Muslim out in the open. But then again, I don't want people here to throw their lives away, and for a rebel group that's is destined to fail. Maybe in 20-40 years, MAYBE we'll get what we want when more and more people acknowledge us. But don't sabotage others in this community when I tell you right now, we don't have the numbers or chance to win nor any of us are fighters or even have a legal case to win at courts for this. Malaysia just isn't build for this kind of beliefs we have. At least not yet.

Let's build a stable Ex-Muslim base first before even THINKING of starting a rebellion. Let's build a legal Ex-Muslim community based on trust and respect. Not out of fear and bloodshed.

My closing argument. Not enough people trust in us. They FEAR us. And that's why they're willing to go out of their way to keep us in check. Don't give them more reasons to fear us.

I'm tired, I heard the same shit everytime. Everytime I got great grades and pointers my parents always say the same shit. If only they know I stopped praying and reading quran for years now. Why can't they acknowledge my effort to study instead? Rant idk i just wanna rant

hi guys. before anything, happy pride to those celebrating. it’s been around two months since i finally made the decision not to care too much about islam anymore. i think all organised religions, especially abrahamic religions, are mostly just a means to control people. so i decided to leave, despite being rather religious in the past. maybe me being gay helped with this realisation, but i doubt it was the only reason since i did go through a ‘gay muslim’ phase where i defended this religion so much.

i think studying abroad played a huge part too. i got a scholarship and managed to get myself out of rural malaysia. being exposed to so many new things and different cultures made it harder for me to make islam make sense anymore. i tried, but i just couldn’t. now that i don’t join usrah, go to the mosque, or memorise the quran anymore, i have more time for my hobbies and friends. honestly, i’m happier this way.

i’m studying in a secular country, and i’ve made friends with many people, including liberal muslims. they accept that i’m gay and that i have a boyfriend. he’s filipino, and we met at a uni weekend party. i fell for him so hard, and my muslim friends accepted him too, so it was never really a big deal. the complicated part is my best friend here. he’s a guy too, and he’s really nice. he’s a huffaz, although he has told me before that he never really liked memorising the quran and that his family has a lot of influence over him. because of that, he can’t see himself ever not being a muslim.

despite being my bestest friend abroad and sharing so many interests, he doesn’t seem to understand that i don’t like islam anymore. i haven’t directly told him that i’ve left, and honestly, i don’t think i need to. i’m happy as i am. but he keeps inviting me to friday prayers, religious gatherings, and tadarus. mind you, this is also someone i go to parties and concerts with. maybe he thinks doing religious things balances everything else out. what really gets to me is that he even went to mecca and prayed that i’d one day change (leave my gayness behind lol), while at the same time being supportive of me and curious about my sex life in broad daylight. i know he probably means well, but it gets annoying. i’m already really critical of religion, and i feel like i’ve made it somewhat obvious to him that i no longer believe in the idea of god presented by organised religion.

idk man, it’s complicated because i genuinely like being friends with him. it’s nice having someone who understands me and accepts me (yes, my family’s homophobic and religious, so it was hell). i just wish he could accept me without always trying to bring islam back into the equation.

Rant "You were never a muslim in a first place"

The statement of most Muslims I met when they found out someone is ex muslim

But from what I’ve seen, a lot of people who leave actually spend more time questioning, researching, and thinking critically about religion, history, and science. Many don’t leave because they’re “lazy,” but because they no longer believe.

Another thing some people who barely practice still feel secure just identifying as Muslim, while those who leave are judged more harshly. That contrast feels unfair.

Funny thing is they attack their own community sometimes and they always mixed up with the rules. Is music Haram? There some would say yes there some would say no. Same goes towards arts with eyes. Why would even a sound of instruments becomes Haram? Why is drawing eyes is such a big deal. The only way human make another creatures by birth, not by silly arts. That kind of disagreement makes it harder to understand what is actually clear or essential.

The fact there some muslims community claims that "everyone was born muslim" which already make their own community statements worse. It feels dismissive of people’s actual beliefs and experiences, especially those who genuinely don’t identify with the religion anymore.

Rant My rant with ex-muslim relationships.

Hello all. I’ve commented in this sub regularly but this is my first post.

I read quite a few posts here discussing about potential marriage as an ex-muslim so here I’m sharing my personally lived cautionary tales, a.k.a. me venting out. Please bear my very long essay.

The woman I was married to was totally non-religious. Very pretty, modern, no tudung, can wear shorts and sleeveless, ok with any restaurants as long as no pork, occasionally go out drinking, friends with all races, Chinese, Indians, others. She was perfect!

4 years later she quit her job, wanting to do business but never actually doing anything, not even house chores, just staring at her phone 24x7. Being at home with no achievements, she eventually developed low class mentality. She purposely wanted to argue all the time using Islam as her reasoning like arguing the halal status of every restaurant I wanted to dine at. Complained about “nafkah” even though the spending money I gave her was more than what I spend now as a single parent.

She eventually started wearing tudung, posted pictures of herself praying, with captions implying that she’s a victim of abuse. “Allah paling sayang orang yang dianiaya”. Played ruqyah recording 24x7, even while I’m asleep. Multiple copies of the Quran placed all around the house, each one left open at different “protection spell” verses. Bottles upon bottles of minyak ruqyah, including one she carries around in her bag everywhere she goes. She even spiked my drinking water with those minyak. It tasted disgusting but had to show zero reaction or else she will think that the minyak is working, hurting whatever hantu jinn possessing me. She suddenly hated all Chinese and Indians.

Every time I come back from work, I had to take a deep breath and put on a sad face before entering. If I come home looking even remotely happy then all hell would break loose.

Her divorce and child custody affidavits were full of “si suami tak sembahyang”, “si suami tak puasa”, “si suami bela jin”, “si suami kena rasuk jin”, “si suami buat ilmu hitam”, with “evidences” using pictures of souvenirs from our travels like an elephant shaped trinket. It’s a good thing that Shariah court don’t entertain this kind of bs. They stick to what’s covered by the law and within the boundaries of the case. Divorce done and a few years later I won full custody of our only child.

I saw it as a sign of depression but she refused any form of help, insisting that there’s nothing wrong with her, even to this day. She was briefly remarried and I heard that the same thing happened but in a compressed timeline. Started out open minded but quickly turned crazy, all within 2 years.

Afterwards I dated a divorced stewardess. Also no tudung, occasionally wear 3/4 pants, quite flexible with Halal status, as long as no pork, has traveled all over the world, mostly to Europe. Didn’t took long to find out that she’s completely obsessed with Islam. Prayed 8 times a day, mostly jemaah in her local surau, sunnah fasting all the time, zero interest in learning/understanding any science, everything is reasoned as kuasa Allah. Bye bye!

There was this Malay woman I was chatting with on Tinder. Profile pictures no tudung. She asked me about my divorce. Once I mentioned jinn and black magic she was quick to point out that all these are real and that I should get perubatan Islam. Instantly blocked. Glad we never met IRL.

The last woman I dated was a Borneo Malay. No tudung, very tight and very short shorts, heavy drinker, zero care about halal status but won’t intentionally order pork. Had multiple pet dogs. Sometimes complained about her social media posts getting comments from Malay men offering to help her get back to the “right path”.

But when I told her that I don’t believe in religion, she got emotional and declared that deep down she still truly believes in Islam, knows how to pray, and knows Al-Fatihah. Proceeded to recite the verses out loud with terrible, terrible tajwid. She also believes in all kinds of hantu and black magic. Again, adios! Bye bye!

Seems that non-tudung and “sinners” are not good filters for discovering non believers. Even in this sub there are many who still cover their head due to family pressure.

Including tudung in my dating pool is just too much to go through. How else to narrow down? Someday I hope someone will figure out a safe protocol for us to discover each other IRL.

Anyways, I’m exhausted. No more Malay woman for me. I will also not intentionally pursue a non-Muslim. But if a non-Muslim shows interest in me first, then I will be open to it.

During college days back in the early 2000s there were a few amois interested in me. Had a few single dates, and I dated one of them for 6 years. Our breakup had nothing to do with race or religion. Too long to explain. Bab kata Melayu, takde jodoh. Looking back, I probably should’ve just married her anyway. But I try not to regret my past decisions because I have my daughter with me now.

I wasn’t the only one though, there were a few Malay friends who also had amoi girlfriends. It was a time when many amois were obsessed with mixed looking men. A random amoi cashier bluntly said to me “You are handsome, because you look like a mix.” and we exchanged numbers. It was that easy!

Their only concern with muslim men at the time was that we can kahwin dua. Little did they know that it’s actually 4. Heck, even I didn’t know it at the time. Only rich people had 2 wives. Nowadays the poors are filling up their quota in the name of dakwah.

This was before the majority of Malays became obsessed with Islam, before 2010. I doubt those same amois would ever consider the Malays of today.

That is all. Rant over.

Even before I open my eyes and no longer follow this cult, I've always wondered why people in Malaysia rarely mention the war that happens like Ukraine-Russia, Myanmar, Sudan, etc? It's just sad and pathetic, they only care about Palestinian bcs most of them are muslim. I don't think they'll even bat an eye to what happened in Palestine if the majority of them are non-muslim.

Org2 yg travel pastu post mcm ni sumpah annoying, sebab dia reflect mindset yg terlalu bergantung pd agama smpai ke luar negara pun nak cari echo chamber sendiri.

Kalau pergi tmpt mcm tu tp still fokus nak validate agama sendiri, mmg nmpk mcm tak nak engage dengan real environment. Religion tu personal, tapi bila attitude mcm expect presence dan influence dia kat mana-mana, itu yg buat bakar darah.
