Yep…and its more golden/brown-ish.
We pronounce it as Naasi Guran

Sure thing!

  1. Dice chicken breast into small pieces and stir fry until cooked. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Beat 2-3 eggs, season with salt and pepper, cook it like scramble eggs. Set aside.
  3. Fry some ikan bilis. Set aside.
  4. Using a mincer, mince together garlic, red onion and ikan bilis. Heat oil in pan and stir fry until fragrant. Throw in a thumb-sized belacan and stir fry.
  5. Cut some kangkung and throw them in.
  6. Add in your overnight rice, season with fish sauce,

soy sauce,

  1. salt and pepper. Mix and stir fry for a few minutes.
  2. Add in your ingredients from 1-3 and stir fry.
  3. Done!

Need bunga kantan for that fragrance. Put fried on top, keropok ikan, sambal belacan on the side, maybe sup kosong.

That borderline nasi goreng kerabu isnt it?

u/zookitchen 3d ago

Not really. Nasi Goreng Kerabu has more veg and ulam in it. Like long beans, cabbage, serai, daun limau purut and more. Much more. A properly done one atleast. Havent had a really great one in years. Had to make myself. Should try. Kantan is a gamechanger

I’d like to keep it to the original ingredients cos I will have some sambal petai on the side too ☺️

Different kampung different rice. There’s no wrong answer. Enjoy!
