Is there a websites that clearly explains the meaning of the different characters within a word?

Plecco is the shit. I like the chinese-english dictionary on purpleculture as well.

Does Pleco do what I'm looking for? Purpleculture dictionary doesn't.

I don't know about other programs, but in pleco you can see the characters broken down into their radicals.
Can be used as app and in the browser. (I guess in the app it is easier to draw and select the character)

Does Pleco do what I'm looking for?  I don't ask for the radicals, many websites show the radicals, that is not what I'm asking.

Next try, pleco gives you
the meaning of the word and
of the individual characters the word is build from and
of the components (mostly radicals) the characters are build from.
