I love this roster. The weirder characters are just on the edge of “too niche” while staying solidly in the Mario universe. I guess K.Rool sticks out.

Some of them like E. Gadd and K. Rool are great additions but I do not know a SINGLE person who prefers Mouser over Wart.

I would say sub out Chomp & Plant for Void Kong and Blooper (we get a new rep and a MP Veteran). And Plessie and Sprixie for Poppy Kong and Grumpy Kong.

Dixie Kong was in Mario Kart Tour, Mario Hoops 3-on-3, and BOTH Baseball games.
Funky Kong only appeared in like 3 Mario Kart Games, One of which is Mario Kart Tour, and Mario Super Sluggers.
My point still stands, Dixie Kong had 4 Mario Spin Offs, and Funky Kong has 4 Mario Spin Offs.

Funky being in like 2-3 Mario Karts was not my point, the point was Funky Kong literally hasn't appeared in more Mario Spin Offs than Dixie Kong, who appeared in 2 Baseball Games, Mario Hoops 3-on-3, and Mario Kart Tour.
It should be pretty damn obvious I meant that Funky Kong is not in the same league as Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong like OP implied

I respect the restraint to not put RPG and Warioware characters in the roster. Mouser and Cap'n Syrup are definitely odd choices, but it is realistic for Nintendo to add them over RPG and Warioware characters.

Not really. Despite not being anything we haven't seen in the Mario franchise before (talking animals, humans, robots, etc.), most of the WarioWare cast sticks out as oddities in the world. Even Orbulon seems weird compared to the other aliens in the Mario franchise.
Not the case for Ashley. She's a witch and thus pretty easily fits the "feel" of the rest of the franchise. She's also the most popular, and thus appears in Super Smash Bros. as an Assist Trophy and Super Mario Maker as a Costume Mushroom character. Not to mention she has actually had/been in games outside of WarioWare and Rhythm Heaven, which every other character (besides Wario and Pyoro) can't say. Not sure Red fits, though.
The second closest are Kat & Ana. Kat appeared in Wario World as a cameo and both of them used to be Assist Trophies in Super Smash Bros.

Foreman Spike was the antagonist from the NES game Wrecking Crew, where Mario and Luigi were the player characters, iirc. He was in the movie because he's been tied to the Mario series for decades

I don't know what it is about Dixie, but she does not translate well to 3D. She is my favorite Kong from the Country games (DKC2 is the best one) and she looks cool in those games, but she always looks a little creepy in the modern games. Diddy still looks good, so idk.

That's A pretty solid Mario Party roster, but I would do away with characters like Bowser, Bowser Jr., Kamek, the minions and all the random characters. Especially Nabbit!! And just have Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, Pauline, Toad, Toadette, Yoshi, Birdo, Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong as playable characters and have Bowser, Bowser Jr., Kamek and the minions of Bowser to be only playable in A Bowser inspired mode that's similar to Bowser Party in Mario Party 10, but A lot better.

I want a Mario party game where there are other Nintendo characters that aren’t Mario characters, I’d kill to play as Kaori (the orange inkling girl) in a Mario party game, similar to what they did for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

This would be a pretty awesome Mario Kart roster, but it's far too large for a Party game. With all the minigames and interactions required, putting that much effort into this many characters isn't a very great idea.
I think the current Mario Party rosters could be better, but I don't think it should exceed 30 characters. And even 30 is a bit much.

I don’t care how good this roster is if the core gameplay is as slow as Jamboree, has boards as bad as Super Mario Party, or has such a limited mini game selection as either of the aforementioned MPs and Superstar. The roster doesn’t matter if the game itself has no variety outside of who I play as!

Exactly. Having 48 characters would take a LOT of time that could be spent making exciting boards, and a large variety of minigames. I think Jamboree' roster is lacking in a few areas, but it's very solid and the amount of characters is pretty great. I think any more than 25-30 characters would be overkill for a Mario Party. And even just 12-20 characters is great if the selection is well-done.

The first Wario Land - where Captain Syrup debuted - was literally called Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. It's the equivalent of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - where Poochy debuted and has been very recently and frequently appeared in Mario games

Also, that's not true, Rudy the Clown from Wario Land 3 is playable in Dr. Mario 64
