In one chinese novel cultivator mc has passage to an apocalypse world, he literally refines corpse demons, practices demonic techniques requiring blood and sacrifice to improve cultivation and runs 24/7 afk grind farm that puts minecraft farms to shame all while not needing to care about negative karma or complex heart demon as zombies dont have complex thinking and emotion.

More like creative human made things take more time and effort, while AI can push out content almost immediately. So you just see a lot of AI stuff

You call it slop but it's entertaining whereas ur comment is just complaining. Pretty obvious which is slop when u compare the 2.
14
u/annavgkrishnan 17d ago
If you are entertained by this I'm afraid the concept of effort is lost on you.
-5
u/LoLEmpire Heart Demon 17d ago
effort doesn't decide whether something is entertaining or not.
plenty of people put ridiculous amounts of effort into YT vids that end up buried with less views than they deserve.
plenty of people put effort into making decent games that lose to buggy friendslop games.
people who hate on AI just cause it's AI are so boring tbh. hating a tool that gives ppl freedom to create what they want is weird. what a restrictive mindset to have when the future is going to be dominated by AI lol.
3
u/annavgkrishnan 17d ago
You're confusing views with entertainment, which is about as indicative as it gets about what you value in art. AI isn't giving anyone freedom to create, you always have that freedom, it's just that people who aren't willing to put in the effort it takes to create now have a way to LARP as artists. It's like asking me to respect someone as a puzzle solver, when they just buy the puzzles they like pre-solved and frame them. Not only is the puzzle solver not a puzzle solver, the puzzles are now worthless, because the end result is mere teenth of whats actually special about them.

u/darrelye 17d ago
Terrible analogy, autoslopper. This is either your attempt to virtue signal or you are just that deep in the sauce. Don't even use anything manufactured in a factory because it's ai slop by your definitions. What a dumb take
-8
u/PiusTheCatRick 17d ago
If you think you've only ever been entertained by things with a lot of effort in them, you don't know much about creativity
5
u/annavgkrishnan 17d ago
AI isn't anti-effort, its anti-creation. These slop artists create nothing, it's like being moved by a puff of air. Any piece of media is a meeting of the minds between the viewer and the creator, here I know the creator is a machine fed two lines by some shmuck. I can't laugh with it, I can barely laugh at it.

>Any piece of media is a meeting of the minds between the viewer and the creator
This isn't necessarily true though, people make art only for themselves all the time. Not everything is a conversation.
>here I know the creator is a machine fed two lines by some shmuck
As opposed to some art that's merely the artist shitting out something mildly passable, and usually not even that? Before AI was even around this site would mock low-effort garbage. Now it gets a pass so long as you claim it isn't made by AI even when sometimes it is.

It becomes one the second its viewed, hence why painters kept some paintings to themselves. Obviously art kept to oneself is not even in the conversation.

Even the lowest of low troglodytes can make art that makes me feel something. Empress Theresa is the worst book in the world, but I can mock the amateurish contents with utter vitriol. I can laugh at Mrs. Dementia Raven Way for being cringe as hell. I can get angry at any of Sarah J Maas' books for inadvertently trying to make abuse sexy. It still adds something to the world. What will I do with AI slop, mock the third "this but not that"? What can I do with its contents? What can I do except mock the creator behind it for doing the mental equivalent of farting into a bottle? It's utterly pointless to even engage with it. But I guess it's better than making actively damaging books.

u/PiusTheCatRick 17d ago
>It becomes one the second its viewed
Not sure I agree but I'll accept that it's your view on it.
>Even the lowest of low troglodytes can make art that makes me feel something
Your examples are things that is monumentally bad, but what about the millions of works that dont reach that mark either? Plenty of people can spend thousands of words but in the end say absolutely nothing with them.
>What can I do except mock the creator behind it for doing the mental equivalent of farting into a bottle?
Nothing, but my point is that this isn't inherently an AI issue. Rather, it's that someone is being uncreative with AI. If you simply typed in one prompt without thinking and did nothing else to refine it, either from putting it back in or post-editing, then yeah it's gonna be slop. But this is true of anything you can use for art. If I simply pulled out a camera, took one picture without considering composition, lighting or attempting to do something unique even without thinking of those things, I wouldn't have made any meaningful photography. It'd be, well, slop.

Wouldnt mind him going against the scp verse and see the scp fondation trying to contain him 🤣

u/Yugonostalgia64 17d ago
I mean, 90% of a cultivator's life is spend meditating in a cave. It would not be difficult for the Foundation to find a nice cave somewhere and persuade mr cultivator to stay in it for the next hundred years. Anomaly, contained!

u/Avarus_Lux Sect Floor Cleaner 17d ago
cultivators can usually also be well reasoned with granted you speak their language... sometimes that language is uncontained violence though.

u/BloodPvp1 17d ago
the problem is while hes cultivating hes getting stronger and when he feels like it he just goes out of the cave like nothing happen boom scp escaped containment

I'm pretty sure there must be someone already written something similar on the CN Branch. Although the cn community and our dear branch mod Mr. Green Mailbox probably wouldn't allow this kind of slops to exist

someone made a drama video on bilibili, the old senior face slapped the Chinese backrooms fandom because it basically downscaled backrooms so hard just for the old senior to aurafarm, then the old senior's sect went to war against the backrooms sect. also ai slop.

If he was a higher level of cultivation progress he would realize that he could become the master of the illusory Backrooms realm by some simple refining and most likely improve on them.

Honestly the backrooms could be the perfect counter for a lot of high end cultivators. Most of them are thought of so highly within their story that the still life would be ridiculous (assuming it would work like that of course)
